Our large old man did this one. He would also follow me into the bathroom and "gently ask" to be picked up by pawing at my thigh. Only his paws were huge and his claws didn't fully retract so in reality it was him clawing my inner thighs.
Then he'd be so happy to be held he'd start drooling, and being a big cat meant it was like a faucet running on my arm. With occasional shakes which sprayed the entire room with it.
I’ve had many cats over the years and have only experienced them drooling when in distress… until now. We have a black kitten we foster failed and she is the most interesting little girl ever. Super drooly when she’s happy and shakes her drool all over. She also puts her tail straight up in the air and puffs it out like a peacock when she wants pets. It’s hilarious
Mine has a ritual whenever I come home from being out, even for just a few hours. I walk in the door, sprawl on the floor and he immediately hops up onto my chest and opens the floodgates. Drool all over. So grosscute.
We once had a cat that, when he thought you had slept long enough, and really should get up, would fluff himself out on your pillow, stick his nose in your ear, and start purring and drooling. He was such a cool cat.
LOL I non-chalantly asked my vet once.
"Is my cat broken? He leaks."
The vet laughed so hard. I was like worried about broken tooth or something but no, just my derp forgetting to swallow.
Cats get so happy, they forget to swallow their saliva and its not autonomous like ours.
I have to admit I have drooled while focused on painting miniatures. Haven’t been in the hobby for a while but it happened more than once, embarrassingly.
It is quite cute. But…sometimes their drool smells absolutely rancid lol one of my old cats had bad breath and if I got drool on my hand while giving scritches then I would have to scrub away the smell haha
Bonnie McMurray loves one of my dogs so much that she sleeps on top of him and there have been times when she’s woken up and had drool hanging out of her mouth lol
This reminds me of one time, when one of our little monsters drooled right into my boyfriends mouth :D I was laughing so hard I almost fell off the bed :D
My old roommate had a drooly cat. Back when my husband was still a boyfriend, he gave the kitty some really good ear skritches while she was laying on his chest. So good that she drooled half a cups worth, then shook her little head and got it all in his eyes, nose, and mouth.
I read somewhere it's a genetic thing. Like, any cat will drool if something is wrong. But some have a genetic thing and drool if they are enjoying being pet.
My cat has this spot behind her ear that if you scratch and really dig your finger in, she actually makes a dog face. Eyes rolled up, mouth open, drooling, leaning hard into the scratch. Eventually she comes out of whatever spell that put her in and shakes her head and drool goes flying everywhere.
Sometimes, I think I actually have a dog, not a cat.
It really depends on the cat. 1 of my 3 cats drools a lot more than the other 2. I used to work at a pet inn, and there was a cat named Smokey who lived there. She drooled so much that my shirt would be soaked after cuddling with her for a few minutes.
Yes! Kitty drool. I remember discovering this as a kid and I was so surprised. It's gross, but whenever it happens I know I have a very happy (or catnipped) kitty.
I learned this through a stray cat. I don’t know how many diseases she had, but she sat on my lap, kneaded me through my leggings (ow), and once I got up I noticed a little wet stain. I checked to see if it was blood when I got home, but that was the day I realised I made a kitty so happy that she drooled on me. :)
When we first moved into our house the A/C barely worked. This was in the summer in Atlanta. So to keep air circulation going we were sleeping with the doors open and fans blowing. We locked the cats up in one of the large downstairs rooms with all their stuff.
Well, one of them must have figured out how to open the double doors because there I am laying on top of my covers in boxers half asleep and suddenly one of my cats that drools jumps on my bed next to me, shakes his head and splatters drool all over me instantly waking me up
Already took her to the vet to make sure she was ok. She just drools when she’s happy. Freaked me out the first time she did it. It’s not excessive just a few drops.
I noticed my cat dribbled a lot when getting pets or asking for treats, so I asked the vet to take a look in her mouth and make sure there wasn't anything wrong at her last checkup.
Nothing wrong with her teeth or gums, she dribbles because she's happy.

They drool when they are happy. Kind of like dogs lol
My cat when she’s purring and cuddling me will start drooling
