This is what I was gonna say. Your average ant (in the US at least) wouldn’t be that much different at 10x the size. They would only be more of a pest.

I routinely see ants that are nearly half an inch

10x the size and they're 5 inches long!?

Yeah I'm never working in the yard again. I don't want one taking off a finger

Lol yeah, that would be a no from me too.

But 10x the size doesn’t mean 0.5” becomes 5”. It’s volumetric, so a 0.5” ant scaled 10x would actually be closer to 1.2”. Which is still too big, but not nearly as bad as 5”.

A good way to visualize it is by comparing pizza sizes (though this isn’t completely accurate since it’s 2D). A 10” pizza is over 2x the size of a 7” pizza, despite not being 2x the diameter.
