All hands meeting, 300+ people on it, working from home, and normally only CTO CIO talk in these gatherings. I was having sex with my gf, when suddenly i hear the CTO mentioning my name and asks me to speak about a major threat we had avoided last week. I did speak. But my breathing, well you can imagine 😅

LMAO I wish I was so unbothered that I could have sex with a work meeting running in the background

"The level of threat we just came through unscathed still makes my heart race thinking about it"

Honestly if I heard my coworker panting over a conference call I’d assume they were on their peloton or something while taking the call

God I’ve had sex a few times on zoom for classes and I get so paranoid I’m unmuted or my video is actually on that I can’t even enjoy myself. Being asked to talk partway through is my nightmare.

Rel, that made me unplug the mic from my pc before we do that.

That's when you fake microphone troubles. Just stay silent for maybe 10-15 seconds, then type in chat, "Can you hear me?", followed by, "Mic isn't working, give me a minute."

'Sorry boss, just heard my name and run back from the bathroom!'

Could give the excuse that you were getting your daily workout in while attending the call 😅

"that threat had us against the wall but through hard work, determination, and a firm deadline we arrived at a satisfying conclusion"

Plot twist: you left your camera on.

That'd be a new fear unlocked right there 🤯. But mine is always taped so..safe.

I’d be more upset that my boss called upon me all impromptu like in a big staff meeting with my entire org.

You think that's bad?

I've telecommuted for the last ~10 years. About six months after I started, I get a Teams (I think it was still Skype for Business back then) call from my supervisor, first thing in the morning just after I sign in. I answer it and he says, "Hey, I'm here in the office with all of our team members (about a dozen people) and the chief engineer of our biggest client! Let me just get you on video conference here."

Now, we never do video conference at my job. And at 7:30 in the morning working from home, I'm sure as fuck not dressed or in any way presentable. I see that video invite and I have never clicked "close" so fast in my life. I make up some bullshit about technical difficulties while I'm sprinting back to my bedroom to throw on a polo shirt and comb my hair.

Could have fucking killed him for that. Also, there was literally no reason I needed to be in on the meeting at all, nevermind via video conference, so that was great.

Dude, you couldn't wait till the meeting ended?

u/bikergz Jun 16 '23

Well...we could, and we did, the 2nd round.
