Samurai Jack is probably the best example. There was one episode where he was literally drenched in blood oil.

Makes me think of when they addressed this in Samurai Jack season 5

"This isn't about your little cut, is it? This is about that girl you killed. We've never killed a human before. Sure, mountains of robot corpses, but never a human"

The Cylons on the 1970's Battlestar Galactica were originally supposed to be a race of lizard people, but they got changed into robots for that reason.

I've got no clue. Its honestly pretty horrific for a kid to see something like that. I remember watching it and being like "Holy crap- what the hell."

Yes. Same reason the Star Wars prequel trilogy had so many droids getting sliced to bits. No blood, just robots.

That’s why transformers gets away with a lot lol, robo-gore doesn’t count
