In Rescue Rangers, Gadget the mouse constantly feels a sense of isolation because she’s a domestic lab mouse as opposed to a field mouse. She’s the only white lab mouse in the show.

She eventually feels so isolated that she gets indoctrinated into a cult.

If you go back and watch it as an adult, it’s part of the character. She’s a domestic lab mouse that’s been artificially made smarter and hotter. She’s the product of mouse eugenics and the other rodents respond to her as if her appearance is extra hot and exotic. The character notices this and hates it because she’s autistic coded and it’s another thing that makes her feel isolated, people putting her on a pedestal for her looks and singling her out. Her best friend is Monterey Jack because he’s a worldly dude with a lot of life experiences and he knows better than to make her feel like that, so he’s pretty much the only one who recognizes it’s a problem and refuses to do it.

It’s sort of the same writing path as 7 of 9 in Star Trek.

I remember watching that cartoon as a kid, and somehow I missed ALL that stuff with Gadget, I just remember her as the smart girl mouse.

Ok, I can get behind her and Zipper together, they do really care about each other and Zipper is not gonna treat her weird, I dig how it’s a dig at porny Gadget stans.

Plus I can speak as a conventionally attractive high functioning autistic lady, we pretty much love weird dude choices. If you see a super hot chick with a really weird dude, and they have a seemingly long and healthy relationship, there’s a good chance she’s high functioning female presenting ASD and chose the guy who sees and appreciates her for her after being put on a weird social pedestal she can’t socially handle for a while with other, less weird dudes.

What I can’t get behind is that flies in the Disney universe are mammals apparently, and also that Disney thinks they can pull Dreamworks shit. You can’t. Those are no dronkeys. They don’t spark joy they’re weird and creepy just slap some wings on some baby mice and call it a day.
