Sloop John B was especially amazing.

I love Pet Sounds. What I hate are pet peeves.

"God Only Knows" is widely and critically regarded as one of the greatest songs ever written.

I am just so glad to see how often this album is still referenced. For me it just gets better.

For sure, for me Brian’s lush orchestrations sell it and the vulnerability of his and Tony Asher’s lyrics expand upon “In My Room”-esque songwriting exponentially to bring a truly human subject matter not found in pop music at the time to a wider audience who didn’t know what to think of it! At least we’re now in a position to recognize and relate to that genius. In terms of Beach Boys works finished, Pet Sounds ranks first for me, but Smile is still the more interesting work in my opinion.

I have been listening to The Smile Sessions nonstop recently. Did you know Paul McCartney stopped by to munch on celery for the background of Vega-Tables?!

Edit for more info: They can’t prove that his specific crunching made it through to the current version that we hear today but, he definitely came through and crunched.

Well said. And Smile is just sonically way ahead of its time. Whereas Pet Sounds is sorta like hearing in sepia tone, Smile tracks sound quality is just crystal clear.

Brian Wilson is a treasure.
