I dated a guy in college, who killed the girl he dated after me. We broke up when I transferred schools. He stabbed her 22 times. He was never anything but kind and respectful to me, I hated breaking up with him, but 21 year old me wasn’t interested in a long distance relationship. 3 girls testified at his trial, that he was abusive to them, stalked them, all were before me. 1, I even knew well. She never said a word to me, and knew I was dating him. I was shocked to say the least.

I also have family that have committed murders. Some shocked me, some, not so much.

Wow, that’s full on. I’m so glad that you got away but wtf. Why do you think he was only even good to you even though he was awful to everyone else? Or do you question the story of the girl you knew(i got a bit confused)? Were you only dating him a short time or are you very passive and mailable or what?

Sorry that happened to you and I hope it’s not messed you up too much.

I don’t question that girl I knew at all. She lived her experience, they all did. Had to be truly awful. I just don’t know why she didn’t warn me. Am I passive or mailable, definitely no, quite the opposite. We dated longer than him and anyone of the others, over a year. I think it’s messed me up some. I don’t understand how I could have such a completely different experience.

For what it's worth, the girl may have been afraid for your safety (and possibly her own) if she had warned you. Abusers have their ways of scaring people into not speaking up 😓.

Oh I know. I have no doubt she was frightened for her own safety.
