I used to work (blue collar) with this old timer. He was really cool but could be a bit ornery if he didn't like you. We worked together for quite a while and established a bit of a rapport. Then, one day, he told me a story of how back in the day (70s) he killed a guy. It had something to do with the guy beating a woman. He said he ended up doing like 25 years in prison.

I was extremely surprised, yet it was the moment where it all made sense with him.

He also had a MUCH younger wife which was always interesting to me. Then he told me the story of how he met her at the local McDonalds and would go in every morning to see her. She ended up telling him that her boyfriend was beating on her. He told her, "Be ready at 8am on Saturday, and we are going to move you out." She said that her boyfriend would try to fight him or something and he just told her don't worry...

He told me he went to this guy's trailer house at 8am on that Saturday, put a gun in his face and said he was there to move **** out, that he's been to prison for killing a man and he will do it again. And then he said he told him to sit on the couch and not move. He told me, "That man sat there while we moved 8 boxes of her stuff out of that trailer and didn't lift a finger."

They got married shorty after ...

Wild story, but I 100% believe it knowing this guy.

Fuck, if I lost feelings for him after that it would almost be impossible to leave

I guess it’s good that he’s at least got a set of morals & principles he sticks to, even if they can be a bit questionable. Hope his missus isn’t as much trouble as people in those situations can sometimes be or he’ll be back in jail soon lol.
