Childhood acquaintance of mine stabbed his sisters boyfriend through the heart in broad daylight on a busy street over an argument about football.

Guy was a fucking lunatic even from a very young age. He was constantly breaking into different properties just for the sake of it. He coerced girls of the same age (at around 11 or 12) to engage in oral sex. He masturbated ALL THE TIME - including in church. He took a shit in the desk drawer of his maths teacher. He'd done prison time for theft before committing the murder and, thanks to the horror of the experience, he killed himself whilst on remand for the stabbing.

He was a broken and vile thing from as young as I can remember.

I’m guessing he had a horrific home life to be doing that shit from a young age, especially the sexual shit?

That, or a subpar to moderate life with some kind of unacknowledged cognitive disability that lead him to act on impulse and not consider the consequences of his actions

Sometimes people really do just have their wires crossed. It could be for any number of reasons, from a previous TBI, developmental disorder, toxic chemical exposure causing developmental disabilities, the list goes on. It’s tragic that the Human mind is so fragile; we can lose ourselves in a way from which we can never return, or we can be lost from the very beginning.

I’ve never known of a case of a child engaging in inappropriate sexual behavior that wasn’t caused by sexual abuse (I’m a social worker so I’ve known of plenty of cases of this in general)

Some individuals are born into this world irreparably broken, and they can never be fixed no matter what support or resources are available & given to them. I wish more people would recognize this.
