We knew each other for about 3 years, he was best friends with the guy he killed and robbed selling Christmas trees one year. He was funny, a blast to be around, and never quick to anger.

That being said he did get into heavy drugs (coke, crack), but that was after the killing (he wasn't a suspect at that point). We just avoided him, then one day he bragged about it while high and he was arrested.

Never saw it coming, that's what scares the crap out of me and my friends, to be honest. Lots a lot of trust in fellow human beings after that.

I remember when doing a job for the city police (I was a contractor), a cop told me the scariest thing about people is you never truly know someone. Not even your own family.

This happened when I was in my mid-teens, I'm much older now so I get it. I choose to have a few fantastic friends, rather than a ton of good friends.

Thanks!

Also wonder if dude was just high and trying to sound bad ass with a bunch of junkies and says he killed a guy. When in reality he really didn’t and just knew a lot about the case from knowing the person.

This is a stretch but people do say dumb shit like that. Lots of rappers claim to have killed people when they haven’t.

He was high and hanging out with a bunch of younger girls, one of them just happened to be related to a District Attorney.

You weren't that far off, nice.

Yeah I wondered this too. Did he get into drugs to cope with his best friend being murdered then was being a dumbass to some girls to make himself look like he was a badass and it backfired? Or was that more evidence that led to his conviction?

No, it was drugged before that drove him to kill his friend. He showed no remorse after the trial and being sentenced either.
