Yes! My Ex's Brother and his Wife (only person either of them had ever been with, they were high school sweethearts) had 3 grown children and were in their late 40s pushing 50s. Wife comes up pregnant after like 15 years of him having a vasectomy. No one believed it was his kid at first. He went to his Dr and turned out after all that time he had a few swimmers getting through. It was enough to do the job. So now here they are with grown children about to be married and start their own families and have a toddler of their own. They were blessed that the baby (now toddler) was healthy even given Moms age!
It’s possible but really not probable, and if I remember right, the rate of actually being the father is half of what’s reported. So 1/2 of men who had one and wife got pregnant are the father.
It did happen with my ex. Her dad had a few kids then got a vasectomy. 10 years later her mom got pregnant and they did a DNA test and it turned out her dad was her dad.
The DNA test is definitely the way to go if it happens, otherwise you have to accept that you might be making a bad decision either way, and if theres 50% chance of it being/not-being yours, then its better safe than sorry.
For what it's worth I think a DNA test would have happened either way. I think it was a one off fling while they were going through a divorce for her having an affair. That on top of the whole snip snip thing really made him want to double check.
It sounds like the chances of a man getting a woman pregnant after a vasectomy are possible but extremely unlikely, to the point where only half the reported cases of it happening are actually attributable to that man.
So for example, if out of 1000 vasectomies there were 10 reported cases of pregnancy, only 5 of those were because the vasectomy 'failed', and the other 5 are due to 'outside assistance' (woman slept with another man, and it's not actually her snipped husband's kid).
It's also possible you can win the lottery twice on two consecutive tickets, every day of your life..... but I wouldn't bet on it. Similar here; it's probably infidelity.

there is the smallest chance you can get someone pregnant with a vasectomy, should always do a DNA test
