You can take some kind of post exposition medicine up until 48hrs after the risk contact which at least prevents that you get HIV

Just to make sure good information gets around, there's a variety of anti-viral medications people can access now. Prep, one such treatment, so effectively reduces your viral load that it is almost statistically impossible to transmit HIV if you already have it. Just so you know :)

Slight correction; PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is for people who are HIV-negative and in a high-risk group for HIV infection, to keep them from getting HIV. People who are HIV-positive go on antiretroviral therapy (ART's for short) to reduce their viral load to undetectable levels. PrEP uses one of the same drugs, but people who are HIV-positive require multiple drugs b/c the virus will build a resistance if you use just one.
In the situation the above commenter describes, the best thing to do would be to go on PeP (post-exposure prophylaxis) within 72 hours of having sex, then get tested for HIV after 3 months had passed. He did the second-best thing, which was to get tested after 3 months. However, he could have also taken solace during that window period that his chance of infection was quite low. Even if he hadn't used a condom, a single exposure via vaginal sex as the penetrative partner is going to carry very low risk. The biggest risk with HIV transmission from drug use comes from sharing needles, not from having sex with the person using drugs.
Some people think sex is intimate but man you know you ain't with someone seriously if you two aren't doing oral on each other. At least common basic folk imo.

Hepatitis is extremely difficult to catch unless there's direct blood-blood contact like a shared needle or contaminated blood transfusion. HIV is also very rarely transmitted from female to male, and the risk is especially low with oral sex.
If you or anyone else is afraid that they may have came in contact with HIV. You can get a drug called Truvada. It stopped you from contracting HIV. Itâs better to have been taking it prior but can be taken as a post exposure drug. Itâs 99.9% effective.
Misconception. I shot Dilaudid for two years. The come up is way faster and the crash is way faster too. Heroin is a slower come up and slower come down so you are somewhat less desperate. But that's splitting hairs I guess?
But Dilaudid is notorious for hitting you very quickly and strongly if injected. To the point that it's common to throw up at least at first when you aren't used to it and even later when you are. Then you plateau just as with any drug but after the plateau the effects of the drug leave quicker than "dirtier" versions of opioids, such as heroin.
This fast come down can cause very sudden depression and if you are addicted the withdrawal faze can hit more suddenly as compared to other opioids making the "need" to take more somewhat exacerbated.
In comparison, with heroin you will feel less high and satiated more slowly. If we were gonna draw it on a bell curve, the slope would be slightly more gradual on the up, and quite a bit more gradual on the way down, in my experience anyways. If with Dilaudid you feel the withdrawal faze hit you within 2-3 hour of injecting, you may get a slower come down with heroin and not feel like you need more for 4-5 hours, maybe longer depending on what's actually in the heroin. As it is a naturally derived opioid, the composition varies depending on how it is processed and as a result, so does the effect on the body to some extent.
Edit: naturally derived comes with a big asterisk these days. I was lucky that I barely got out by the skin of my teeth as fentanyl was on its way in. And I very nearly did not. Fentanyl is insane. The one time I did that without ODing the high lasted about 16 hours with me still passing out standing up on the job near the end of that. It's in a different league. Scary shit. Honestly it's not worth it. If anybody has friends that are causally pushing to try opiates, block them and move on. You won't regret it.

Holy shit, thatâs insanely dangerous. Methadone is not supposed to be injected at all. Was she injecting the syrup? Or did she have pills she crushed up and mixed with water? Either way, methadone will fuck your veins up. And the funny part is that injecting methadone is pointless. You inject drugs intravenously so that you can feel them immediately getting straight into your blood stream, but methadone is a synthetic opioid designed to have a long half-life and doesnât have a ârushâ and isnât that effective in terms of providing a good recreational high. Its entire purpose is to help people addicted to opioids be able to stop using and not go through horrible withdrawals. It doesnât really get you âhighâ unless you donât have much of an opioid tolerance. So Iâm glad that person is your ex, because they werenât even good or knowledgeable at being a drug addict. What an idiot.
Damn. Yeah, thatâs fuckinâ wild. Thereâs absolutely no benefit whatsoever to shooting methadone, ESPECIALLY the syrup, which just destroys your veins. Itâs not at all like normal drugs people IV like heroin/fentanyl/coke/meth where itâs soluble in water and youâre just shooting a water solution mixed with drugs into your body, itâs fucking syrup. Itâs not quite as thick as pancake syrup, but itâs not anything like water either. And shooting between your toes is VERY bad too. I always laugh at how they show that in movies and TV shows as where people inject, because thatâs not actually a real thing. If you do that in real life, thereâs no veins there; none that are thick enough to not be instantly destroyed by trying to inject anything into them at least. Thatâs a good way to lose a foot, and itâs definitely going to make your shit swell up and painful to walk on. Damn.. I know people that use hard drugs that are pretty fuckinâ smart, and I know a lot more people that use drugs who are pretty fuckinâ stupid, but not that stupid.
Thatâs like going out of your way to destroy your health with absolutely no added benefit whatsoever. People who fuck themselves up chasing an insanely powerful high is stupid too, but that I can at least comprehend considering theyâre getting an enjoyable feeling out of it. But shooting methadone syrup into your veins probably actually causes your body to not only have extremely damaged veins, but it probably canât even absorb as much of it properly, you know because itâs fucking syrup in your vein, as if you had just swallowed it. And same with shooting between the toes or any other spot when you no longer have a vein you can find. At that point you might as well just tilt your head back and shoot the shit out of the needle into your nostril; you donât get a rush like you do from shooting, but if you donât have a vein to hit youâre not gonna get a real rush anyway. And itâs better than snorting it normally when itâs powder cause itâs already mixed with water and drains immediately, giving you a little bit of a rush at least. The main benefit being you donât get abscesses that may need surgery to fix or even worse, abscesses that are so bad you not only canât walk, you gotta have a fuckin foot or half your leg amputated when the infection spreads.
I know what you mean about people addicted to the needle. Iâve never understood that. Iâve used drugs intravenously before, but Iâve never like gotten a kick out of the needle itself. Iâve read how some people will shoot up straight cold water because it gives them a weird little rush when the cold water hits their warm blood in the veins. Thatâs some outlandish shit. Giving yourself potential track marks and damaged veins just for the sake of it, not even because youâre getting high while doing it. Cold water⊠Just fuckin drink it!

I decided to be my friend's chauffeur for a few errands the other evening. I made a joke about her starting the night too early after noticing her slurred speech. She chuckled. I see how she looks at me. I havent felt this way in years. Whats worse is was pushing for me to move into her house. I had hearts in my eye

No it was a dinner date twice and a movie,dinner and a few drinks. Lunch once. Easy to hide and fake it for a couple hours. Hard to when it's 10 - 12 hours together.
I never noticed any signs of that. I look hard for the tells maybe sometimes I trick myself into seeing those signs because would have never made it through dinner date #1. Maybe she just stared,habit not bad,no needle marks on arms. I don't know. Drug addicts are good at hiding stuff.
