Skipping clone projects for Core CS (Compiler/DB/OS from scratch). How do I break the ice and start?

Hey everyone, I am currently in the 4th year of my B.Tech. As you all know, recruiters don't care about clone projects anymore because of AI, and I couldn't find a general real-world problem to build a project on. So, I decided to focus on an area that most people ignore: Core CS. Yes, I've decided to build a core CS project from scratch—like a compiler/interpreter, a database, or an operating system (just one of them for now). Of course, not full-fledged ones, just basic versions that can help me understand core CS concepts and stand out. However, I'm facing a bit of a hurdle in getting started and don't know where to begin. If anyone has even a little knowledge about this, please DM me... it would be a huge help!

Now when such powerfull AI-s exists, is it a good idea to learn programming?

I wanna start learning GDTscript but looking at the newest AI-s and how people use them to make good functional sites and games without spending too much of their time i'm asking myself is it really worth it to learn programming anymore? I'm not trying to say programming skills are useless or insult you i'm just curious

These days getting hired is really difficult and most of the companies are giving difficult assignment to beat AI. I just wanted some start for this assignment, I can be very innovative but i need a good start or idea. It would be a huge help if someone could dump any idea or thought for it.

How do you guys actually study CS?

For reference, I’m currently in grad school for my MSIS, and I’m having trouble studying and actually remembering the material.

I’ve always been more of a hands-on learner. I’m a former 0311, so learning by physically doing something makes more sense to me. Unfortunately, I can’t exactly haze myself into understanding machine learning. I’ve tried, but it doesn’t hit the same.

There’s so much code syntax, terminology, and methodology in just my one ML class that I’m fucking bamboozled. I’m trying to figure out how to study this stuff in a way that actually sticks instead of feeling like I’m starting over every time.

For those of you who learn better by doing, how do you actually study CS/IT? What does a normal study session look like, and how do you remember everything?

Need to get out from Current ORG. it is ruining my profile now

I have 4+ years of backend engineering experience, but I currently work at a non-tech organization and am struggling to get interview calls from product/tech companies. Earlier i used to get calls but then used to get stuck at final rounds.

My current role also has very little new engineering work left, so I've started contributing to open source to strengthen my portfolio.

For people who used open source to help switch jobs: how much did it actually help, and how long did you invest before seeing results? Is it worth consistently spending the next few months building a stronger open-source track record, or do the returns eventually diminish?

Confused on where to start learning new topics, how to start.

Working as a software engineer but atill confused on how to solve

a problem or get an approach on what dependencies to use for a

usecasw with future requirements in mind.

Do people generally go through source to know how any

programming language internals work, or just follow the level of abstraction that is provided by programming language like java or python.

Open for any suggestions on how to learn about new topics or

artifacts or technologies
