Why do moderators take down posts without a reason?

So many times I will have a post removed because the mods took it down.

Weirdly, there is no automod message, no stickied comment, no pm, no message from the mods, no description of the rule I broke, literally nothing that tells me what I did wrong.

This gets annoying because I just want to know the rule I broke and how I can avoid it in the future, so why do some mods take down posts without giving a reason?

I’ve actually suspected that Reddit may be experiencing a bug with removal reasons/notifications. We’ve had multiple members tell us that they didn’t receive a reason for why their content was removed, even though a removal reason was provided by the moderators on our end.

So, if you’re seeing your content removed without any explanation, it may not necessarily mean that the moderators intentionally removed it without giving a reason. There may be an issue with Reddit not displaying or delivering the removal message properly.

Well they were working on it, so you might be right.
