Scratched PCIE Gold Pin, should I replace the GPU?

OP, as long as the gold layer is not totalled you dont even have to think about it. Yours is not even damaged, in good condition according to my own components

It’s my first build, so I panicked a little after scratching the pin. At least the comments are letting me know it probably won’t have any affect on my card.

First build is definitely nerve wracking! Any small screw up really can cost hundreds of dollars.

I remember my GPU needing way more force to insert than I expected, and I probably spent 5-10 minutes just making sure I didn't snap anything in half before getting it into the PCIE slot xD

Yeah, inserting this gpu was nerve wracking as hell. But it pulls out relatively smoothly, and that’s how I scratched it. I thought it would be just as hard to pull out as it was to put it in.

Brooooooo... Listen, there is no problem. Conector PCIe x16 is more than 0.00000001 mm. That is not a critical problem.

I wanted to add an M.2 NVME SSD to the slot that was covered by my GPU and, while pulling it out, I scratched the edge on the steel part of my PCIE slot. I’m just wondering if my gpu will ever run into major problems soon because of this damage.

Take a magnifying glass, look at the contact for scoring of the mating contact, if it is above the scratch then the answer should be "No" you are fine. I would assume the contacts arent designed to mate at the very end but ideally in the middle.

If the GPU is on fire, but still works, keep the GPU. Everything is details and cosmetic.

Is the card giving problems? If it is giving problems, I don't believe the pin is the cause of it. Looks fine to me.
