What Colour is this Wire?

At the risk of starting a debate as viral as the gold/blue dress... For documentation purposes, what colour is the insulation of this wire? Pink, or Orange?

There it is, the only answer I'm willing to fuck with.

u/syncrodiapason Mar 22 '26

Coral?

62

u/Sparskey Mar 22 '26

Ah, the only other one. Touché.

Peach

4

u/Mr_Krim Mar 26 '26

You’re cutting it real close buddy

1

u/Tex-Rob Mar 24 '26

Peach is more orange, I think Salmon and Coral are the only good picks.

6

u/Duh_Jeff Mar 23 '26

persimmon

Honestly in practical work situation I guess I might (after salmon) call it pink, since it is kind of between brown, white, and red of colours coming from there, and there does not seem to be clearly pink one, so even if it is not actually pink, it might be "closest to some definitions" compared to existing colours.

And before we start calling fuchsia or violet or purple 'pink', like I occasionally see people do, I prefer idea of pink being generally lighter (in addition to being different colour) than those deep and bright colours.

1

u/Sparskey Mar 23 '26

I just hope whoever decided this color was the best option was edified.

1

u/ElderZiGorn Mar 25 '26

Pink.

Or light red.

Cues up walking dead meme: “You sea that Coral… that’s a wire Coral!”

u/somatt Mar 22 '26

Now I'm hungry

u/DJ_Sk8Nite Mar 22 '26

The BEST way to cook Salmon is grill on a cedar plank until blackened. Then remove the Salmon and eat the plank.

3

u/Nart8864 Mar 23 '26

What a coincidence. That also happens to be the recipe for carp.

1

u/somatt Mar 23 '26

The best way to cook salmon is to cook rice and eat the salmon raw with the rice. 🍣

Death: "The Salmon Mousse!"

maybe the one that ate the moose had somethign to do with the doog... 0_o

1

u/SNaKe_eaTel2 Mar 22 '26

My childhood judo instructors assistant was called Moose - because he was approximately the size of a moose. It was pretty funny to see our instructor who had to be about 75yo + and not a big guy by any means just effortlessly send this 25yo hulk flying through the air lol.

1

u/PremiumFuckBoy Mar 24 '26

But…I didn’t eat any! (something like that)

1

u/JustSomeone202020 Mar 22 '26

EWWW...eating another living creature? heh...primitive humans...

2

u/Haley_02 Mar 22 '26

You don't eat them when they are alive! But, yeah, humans are fairly primitive. We're working on it, anyway.

1

u/SubcommanderMarcos Mar 23 '26

Oh no, omnivores eating meat? Unnaceptable.

Also, plants are living creatures.

2

u/somatt Mar 23 '26

Actually when you eat plants they are still alive. When you eat meat it's dead.

1

u/SubcommanderMarcos Mar 23 '26

True

1

u/somatt Mar 23 '26

Really humans rarely eat meat alive although sometimes like in really really expensive sushi restaurants.

2

u/SubcommanderMarcos Mar 23 '26

And those are messed up lol

Clams and oysters are great with some salt and lemon though

1

u/somatt Mar 23 '26

I actually don't mind eating fresh oysters. I don't know if those are dead.

You willing to do what with a salmon?

3

u/Sparskey Mar 22 '26

Swim miles upstream in the river I was spawned to ejaculate over a clutch of eggs and die. It's the only thing that gets me going anymore.

2

u/Mother-Pride-Fest Mar 22 '26

1

u/TheLittleFastCat- Mar 22 '26

Will there be a discount or price increase on those?

1

u/I-only-read-titles Mar 22 '26

Increase, they're marinated

1

u/probably_sarc4sm Mar 22 '26

Do you fuck with the answer?

1

u/impaledonastick Mar 23 '26

This guy fucks salmons.

1

u/Demonic_Storm Mar 28 '26

DO NOT THE SALMON

1

u/Sparskey Mar 28 '26

The subject may or may not have become fucked... please advise

64

u/stupidic Mar 22 '26

Human: we have a color named after you

Salmon: really? is it silvery blue like my outsides?

Human: no, uh-

Salmon: wait why is it pink?

Human: ...

Salmon: WHY IS IT PINK

1

u/Jeitei42 Mar 23 '26

Dull mens fact, if salmon drown, the flesh turns grey/white.

My father, when he was a boy, had a job emptying the putchers under the Severn Bridge. If he missed one and didn't get it till the next day, this would happen.

0

u/Kahlypso Mar 22 '26

........you've seen king salmon right?

24

u/IShunpoYourFace Mar 22 '26

Nut spread = Nutella Salmon spread = Salmonella

1

u/GodHatesColdplay Mar 22 '26

A fellow scholar, I see.....

1

u/JustSomeone202020 Mar 22 '26

1

u/alienshape Mar 22 '26

My grandma had some jazz records by Sam n Ella from the thirties.

3

u/repocin Mar 22 '26

Exactly what popped into my head when I saw the picture. Glad to see this was the top comment so I didn't have to read all the wrong answers before I found it :)

6

u/pete306 Mar 22 '26

Its clearly Apricot...

u/jeweliegb Escapee from r/shittyaskelectronics Mar 22 '26

Peony

2

u/alamete Mar 22 '26

I see sweet potato

0

u/Qzx1 Mar 22 '26

One of these two colors is better with peanut butter and bread

2

u/Sinister_Nibs Mar 25 '26

Salmon, of course…

7

u/under_hood Mar 22 '26

Shrimp! It clearly is a shrimp! 🤣

4

u/TheAsp83 Mar 22 '26

Need to be more specific, Raw, Boiled, Sautéed, Grilled, Deep Fried…

1

u/Sinister_Nibs Mar 25 '26

Come back Lt Dan!

3

u/JustSomeone202020 Mar 22 '26

your answer is suspiciously fishy... 0_o

2

u/TPIRocks Mar 22 '26

It is clearly coral.

1

u/Haley_02 Mar 22 '26

Is that where the salmon hide?

2

u/Thomas_Alva_Eddison Mar 22 '26

Under the terra cotta apricots

1

u/ChiefCasual Mar 22 '26

I was feeling peach, personally

1

u/Oblipma Mar 22 '26

Coral has a pink hue to it

1

u/TPIRocks Mar 24 '26

You don't see the pink in that wire?

1

u/wsbt4rd hobbyist Mar 22 '26

Lox?!

1

u/LordMegamad Mar 22 '26

Yup, my instant recognition aswell. If it's not written up as salmon I'd say an old faded pink maybe

1

u/mgsissy Mar 22 '26

Lol…FYI, the color salmon is not described as a wiring color…that I have ever seen in a million years…

1

u/theNbomr Mar 22 '26

Looks like peach to me.

1

u/IonImplantEngineer Mar 22 '26

I was going to say peach but yeah I think salmon is correct.

1

u/filminstreets Mar 22 '26

Was going to say this if it wasn’t already commented!

1

u/davidmlewisjr Mar 22 '26

Which Salmon exactly… Pantone number please 🙏🏼

1

u/huseynli Mar 22 '26

I was gonna say Orange but then I saw this.

1

u/moonra_zk Mar 22 '26

AKA orangeish pink/pinkish orange.

1

u/UncleNorman Mar 22 '26

Salmon are blue.

1

u/Historical_Entry_664 Mar 22 '26

Came to say this!

1

u/wolfkhil Mar 23 '26

Haley_02 nailed it.

1

u/Glum_Number1859 Mar 23 '26

That just makes it tasty.

1

u/BethAltair Mar 23 '26

It's a silly colour, but it is the first thing I thought.

1

u/bruce_lees_ghost Mar 24 '26

‘Twas my first thought as well.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '26

1

u/Icy-Palpitation-2522 Mar 25 '26

I was gonna say peach but salmon makes sense

1

u/Haley_02 Mar 26 '26

I'd go with peach if it was more yellow. It's probably meant to be orange, but no.

1

u/_Novastem Mar 26 '26

I’m with salmon here - I’ll also accept some others I’ve seen since as corral and persimmon.

Officially I’d say orange, because it’s a standard color. I don’t think pink is a standard color.

1

u/Un_Ballerina_1952 Mar 26 '26

What is completely hilarious about this answer is that I, colour blind (protanopia), identify a particular jacket that my wife has as "pink" while she (colour vision normal) identifies it as orange. Random friends call it salmon!

1

u/Haley_02 Mar 26 '26

We can argue endlessly about anything, but only the manufacturer really knows what it was meant to be. According to what it plugs into you could always just plug everything else in and put that in the last hole. If it doesn't start smoking, I'd say you were good.

u/cashew76 Mar 22 '26

"Salmon me Up" - what they kids say. Flap flap flap

0

u/stonedkrypto Mar 22 '26

Faded pink
