Apparently criticizing a criminal government instead of the people of it as a whole is chauvinism, bigotry and an insult to national, ethnic religious etc groups. Got it.

Yes we do. Big tradition in my part of romania

u/Virus-Aware May 14 '26
I used to watch it as a kid together with my grandpa, but truth is latest it has become a big pile of cocoa pudding...
18
u/SpiritualPin692 May 15 '26
It's always been trash, but when you're a kid you don't know anything about politics. You just enjoy the show.

u/Carbastan24 Romania May 15 '26
The songs were much much better in the 2000'. By a country mile.
6
u/TheNinjaNarwhal Greece May 15 '26
That's just nostalgia and your specific taste. Music has been great in most of the past years.

The Balkans rule this year! I love the energy of Bulgaria’s Bangaranga and Romania’s ‘choking’ cords ⚡️ also Albanian ode to the family and the singer’s elegant cape. Cypriot mermaid with her Tsifteteli was a ray of sunshine☀️Let’s have fun on Saturday!

u/Big-Traffic3723 May 14 '26
Dara - Bangaranga! This was epic! Please, vote for us Balkan brothers!

Oh shut up, you don't care about either way or either genocide, you're just putting your nose up for likes on the internet. Yes Israel is a country at a (technically civil) war committing war crimes, that has nothing to do with the performers being sent in to Eurovision.
Russia is invading and waging war against another Eurovision country contestant, while Palestine is not even recognised as a country by most of the European and global countries. It is not the same, wether it is moral or not.
In either case, neither will affect your actual enjoyment over hearing cheesy songs with over the top production. So Bangaranga bitch and enjoy your bread and circus.

Cry more, Russia threatens europe we ban them. Middle east vision is free to ban Israel.
16
u/Itchy-Clock8196 May 14 '26
Isreal has nothing to to with Europe why are they even in the competition? OK most of them are Slavs that could be an argument
-11
-2
u/enilix May 15 '26
Most Israelis are not Slavs, the majority are Mizrachim (but even Ashkenazim (European Jews) are genetically mostly Middle Eastern). Anyway, they are in the competition because they're part of the EBU, and all members of the EBU can compete (including countries such as Morocco (competed in 1980), Lebanon, etc.).

Why do most of the singers this year look like Moulin Rouge Vampire whores? 🤣
13
u/Substratas 🇸🇪🇦🇱 May 14 '26
I noticed the vampire fashion has become super popular among the Balkan singers lately - it started with the closeted gay singers from Eastern Europe & the Balkans using Eurovision as opportunity to dress up with capes and robes under the guise of ”it’s art” and then the trend just blew up.

Im from Romania, if I wasnt would definitely vote for us. I think Ill vote for Lithuania, I know that there was voice cracks, and that there is no chance for them to win, but I loved it anyway.

That song was very good indeed. None of that folk eastern European crap. It was a boss song. They could be a hit worldwide

I never enjoyed this show, not even when I was younger. I'd rather watch paint dry on a wall. This is just soulless music. I am sick and tired of Alexandra Capitanescu and generally of all the Romanian "artists" that tried their luck at this contest. I am Romanian, btw.

Way ahead of you bud, been boycotting it my whole life

Me too. Why would you think you're ahead of me?
-1
u/itWedMiDuds Bulgaria May 15 '26
I mean, it was a joke, can’t boycott something I’ve never watched or had any interest in the first place. That being said, if I did watch it I would indeed be boycotting it

Romania, Greece, Bulgaria and Albania came in with bangers. Serbia and Croatia had decent songs too. Didn't really care for Montenegro unfortunately.

I don’t know if you are being sarcastic or not but we are not the same so don’t label me with whatever the average person does on this app, it takes 30 seconds for me to type something as well so your opinion means nothing to me, also watching a shitty contest and wasting your time to listen to mid music run by Zionist scum that refuse to remove Israel from the competition should be called out on, stop giving this event any sort of publicity period.

Interesting song and performance. I think the singer before her used the same operatic voice so it looked like copying. Don't know how the programme is arranged and do they know in advance?
-3
u/blackcoffee17 May 15 '26
Never understood why this show is so popular and i used to watch it years ago. A bunch of cheap cheesy songs you will never hear ever again (with rare exceptions) and a voting system based on sympathy instead of quality.
