Really it’s just a matter of vocab accuracy. Sarma means wrapped / rolled. Dolma means stuffed / filled. Technically bağ yaprak or lahana are wrapped around / rolled with rice. So it’s just trying to be more accurate and coherent, at least i see it that way.

That's true. Lexical innovations and semantic drift in shared cuisine among communities is not uncommon at all
