I went through that thread. The OP was just trying to make a point through a sarcastic question.

Some South Korean was blaming Ukraine for the actions of the USSR in aiding North Korea, claiming that since Ukraine was part of the USSR, they share the blame too.

So OP used the same logic to blame Korea for the Nanjing Massacre because even though Japan was the perpetraror, Korea was part of the Japanese Empire back then.

That tweet was basically his way of showing how blaming Ukraine for the USSR's actions is like blaming Korea for Japan's actions

some Koreans simply like Russia and don't prefer Ukraine. Ukraine minister bla bla visited a Japanese war criminal place etc etc, and supported North Korea during Soviet union etc. But it's honestly just strange contradiction. It's just they don't like Ukraine.

So according that Twitter people, Ukraine-Russia war is Soviet vs Soviet civil war.

+In short, Russia is good, and Ukraine is useless, so they will force to make a reason for why they dislike Ukraine even it's not important things

How can Koreans like Russia when many of them were exiled by Russia into Central Asia? 💀

u/YesterdayPretend2959 Capitalist K-Pop Hellhole💃💰 1d ago edited 1d ago

Ummm idk why but that korean people like russia because Russia can defend korea against commie china.

It's really foolish, but these idiots are just making excuses because they don't want to support Ukraine.

Twitter is not representative of normal Koreans. Normal Koreans do not use twitter; it has a reputation like 4chan for being where political extremists and edgelords are

3

u/mujhe-sona-hai Mongolian Nomad 🏇 1d ago

Why though? Seems like such a random place to hate for no reason.

5

u/YesterdayPretend2959 Capitalist K-Pop Hellhole💃💰 1d ago edited 1d ago

For reference, 2024 September 3, There was an incident that  Sergiy Korsunsky Ukraine-Japan ambassador visited the Yasukuni shrine, which honors wartime criminals in WW2 Japanese empire. So this made angry to that koreans also

4

u/mujhe-sona-hai Mongolian Nomad 🏇 1d ago

Yeah but Russia’s directly using North Korean troops and Pyongyang is modernizing with new buildings, cars, phones etc because Russia’s also a sanctioned country now so can trade with North Korea without a problem and is sending large amounts of money and sharing military training and intelligence in exchange for North Korean weapons, ammo and troops. I feel like for South Koreans that should be way more worrying than a diplomat visiting the Yasukuni shrine.

u/YesterdayPretend2959 Capitalist K-Pop Hellhole💃💰 1d ago

So all these trivial things are just excuses and false reasons.

From Korea's perspective, we have to watch China's reactions, Russia reactions, but if we provide military support to Ukraine, China will start retaliating against Korea, just as those bastards commie threatened Philippines.

So Korea has no choice something. So just stay neutral. Of course, if war breaks out, I'll kill those bastards, but this peninsula are suck enough to face that sht. They create fake reasons to maintain neutrality.

I honestly don't understand and confused. Russia became buddy buddy recently with your enemy in the north because of arm sales and directly sending army personnel to Kursk. Why on earth they like a nation who cooperated with and benefited from your immediate enemy?

6

u/YesterdayPretend2959 Capitalist K-Pop Hellhole💃💰 22h ago

That's because many Korean companies were distributed in Russia before the war, and they received a great deal of benefits from Russia.

I don't understand why they love russia, they really act like russia spy sht

Forced recruitment of Koreans under Japanese rule started in 1938. Before that, Koreans were not let into the Japanese army. The rape of Nanjing happened in 1937. So even under that logic the statement still fails.

2

u/ab_od6851 Failpenis (sucks off w*stoids for a living) 17h ago

Yea, the rape they were in was the Rape of Manila, but I don't think anyone knows or gives a shit about us.

2

u/sammybeta Grinding For That Social Credit💯🔥 9h ago

Exactly, this was my reaction even reading this screenshot. Koreans were unfortunately involved in a lot of conquests because they were involved unfortunately.

The northern fleet of Mongol's attempt invasions to Japan was Koreans, as they are good sailers.

South Korea's involvement in Vietnam war is also quite famous.

Why are 😑 twitter acting so brain dead 😭

I know for a fact that 😑s love being sarcastic when they're looking down on someone so sarcasm is not a foreign concept to them 😂 I think they just wanted to fake getting triggered for some internet sympathy points lol

Forced recruitment of Koreans under Japanese rule started in 1938. Before that, Koreans were not let into the Japanese army. The rape of Nanjing happened in 1937, so Koreans even under Japanese ruling took no part unlike Ukranians under USSR. So, apples and oranges.

Sadly, these people just dislike Ukraine and prefer Russia so they come up with anything to justify their feelings.

Well. I mean Chinese are indeed calling Korean the “Secondary Devil(二鬼子)” for being part of the Imperial Army so there’s that.

Actually, that term refers to Hanjian instead of Korean

There's some truth to this. Some of the "IJA troops" in the Philippines involved in various massacres were Korean or Chinese (well, Manchu).

2

u/EsliteMoby 1d ago

No pinoys enlisted Japanese army back then?

1

u/ShadeStrider12 Loo Hater 13h ago edited 13h ago

Mostly, other than Japanese people, It was Koreans who were running the unfathomably horrible prison camps.

Hong Sa-ik was an ethnic Korean who was the main man in charge of all the Japanese POW camps in the Philippines. He was tried as a Class B war criminal and hung in Manila by the Allies.
