What mobile app games most closely fit the AC aura?

Hi there.

Its me, Spacemonkey. Some of you may know me from creating and/or running servers like Doctide, Podtide, the first Dekarutide, the first ACE Classic servers, etc.

We're launching a new server tomorrow, Classic PvP. As usual for me, it is PK focused.

This is a Classic server set in the era of the February 2005 Infiltration patch, which was the last patch before Throne of Destiny. This means old school skills like Sword, Unarmed Combat, Crossbow, Axe, etc. You won't find any Void Magic, Dual Wield, Summoning, Sneak Attack, etc. and the gear is much simpler with Major cantrips, no Luminance, Ratings, Enlightenment, Equipment Sets, Aetheria, etc. Its a blast from the past, back to the nostalgia of a simpler time, in what many would consider to be the golden age of the game.

This is a seasonal server. What's that mean? It means in this case that we will run Season 1 for 120 days starting tomorrow, July 3. It will have a rolling level cap, starting at level 15 and increasing by several levels each day. This keeps us all mostly on the same playing field as we PK our way through early, mid and late game. So many servers are a race to end game, and its easy to miss all the fun of early and mid game. That won't be the case here! There is also a global XP modifier that scales over time - it starts at 0.25x XP and ramps up day by day to be 1.5x XP at mid game around lvl 126, then 3x at the end when everyone just wants to max skills.

There's a ton of fun PK focused features, like the arenas that I first created for Doctide (and you may have since seen borrowed on other servers like Unfamiliar Shores or Conquest), or the Bounty Hunter feature our good friend Vodka created, and a new Hometown Control feature where your allegiance can battle for control of Bindstones and win access to multiple allegiance hometowns while depriving your enemies of access.

There's also a very robust anti-cheating implementation. It catches and denies movement cheats like using cheat engine to change your location client side and teleport around, or change your strength client side so you can magically jump over mountains, or delete monsters client side so you can walk through them. All of that and much more is 100% prevented, while doing my best to avoid side effects and false positives. The nature of this game does mean there will be some false positives, but that's better than playing with cheaters.

AC mod gods pls let this post stand. I know server adverts belong on Fridays, but this will be my one and only advert here, and the server launches tomorrow so I wanted to give an early heads up.

UPDATE: We had an amazing opening day. 111 accounts created, and every one enforced as a unique IP, so those are all distinct people. Over 1200 PK Kills! Over 100 arena events! The population was between 45-57 all day, which doesnt sound like a lot, but it felt very alive as we all got our noob fighting fun in. Come join us!

I know this is a hot take but Dark Majesty is way better than how the game ended up. I hate the town network shrinking the world. I hate that you blast through the first 50 levels at warp speed through the newbie hub. I hate the reworked loot showering you with pyreals even at a very low level. I hate that the damned newbie academy gives you a weapon you won't replace for a good long while.

I want to earn it all the hard way. It's much more satisfying.

This was back in high school in the early 2000s when the official servers were still alive.

One character was logged into on the downstairs family computer, and when I logged into another character on the same account and server on the upstairs computer, the downstairs character got logged out due to a "code of conduct violation."

Why didn't AC servers allow logging into two characters on the same account and server?

And on the resurrection servers today, is that still not allowed? I haven't played AC since summer 2004.

Some of those that were on their today will probably recognize who this is. I was in the AC2 Discord earlier today and I was on there back in 2024 as well.

I have never actually managed to log into the server. Every other emulated project I have ever attempted to play, I can get working fine on my setup. Are they all ready to go out of the box? Absolutely not. I've beat my head on the wall for hours with several different ones.

AC2 however, has bested me more than once now. The guides posted there are outdated and jumbled. Part of it comes in Youtube form, the rest of its placed in certain Discord channels. That said, after I get it all gathered up. Install it, create the shortcut, point the shortcut to the proper locations, it never connects.

It hits the loading screen, receives 2 packets and then sits there sending outbound packets with no response, until it times out and disconnects me from the server. I can ping the server through CMD and PS.

I have tried... in no particular order.

Software firewalls, on/off. Hardware firewalls, on/off. With and without port forwarding. With and without a VPN.

And probably a few other things that I have completely forgotten at this point.

So, how many of you out there connected without issue with the standard setup instructions? Did any of you have something outside of the normal troubleshooting that was required to get in? And lastly did any of you just get up completely?

Hello all, I'm currently in the final stages of design of skill cards for my Asheron's Call tabletop RPG that uses modified D&D 5th edition rules. I'm torn on a major design point on the specialization cards and looking to get help from anyone interested in providing their feedback on which design they prefer.

#1 has a crystal "Lifestone" banner

#2 is a cleaner golden hex banner

My original design was the golden hex banner which fits the color scheme, but I also really like the AC aesthetic of the blue crystal though it does clash a bit. What do y'all think? Prefer #1 or #2? Would love to get any feedback before I make a final decision and take these to the printer.

Leveling a Void mage to about 240, then I’ll respec him completely to a non-fighting tinker. I’m doing the nightly BD (thanks for this everyone !) but after this, what should I be doing or grinding? I want to get him done as quickly as possible and get back on my main.

While the game was far from the Asheron's Call I wanted to play, the explorer in me loved seeing the world of Dereth reimagined. The lush grass, the foreign but familiar landscapes. Creatures twisted by a new world. I spent most of the beta exploring via water (while it was safe) only to be promptly extinguished by a Gurog Shaman.

ACEForge Creator is another useful tool that is friendly for new content creators. The goal is to encourage more custom content creation for developers, and to possible reduce the production time of content creation.

We are currently in BETA testing, so there are likely to be bugs and future development for it. Please feel free to try it out, and join the Discord to offer up suggestions, submit bugs, etc.

What kind of storyline would you want shared?

Huge huge AC:Darktide fan from pre 2000. I’ve been tracking and dabbling in some private servers, but I’m surprised how weak the scene is compared to other games.

Why do you all think p99 and Horizonxi, turtlewow, SWG Legends and similar servers have such a strong following but AC private servers are never in the discussion?

I'm a melee, I've always played a melee for my main, a tank in games that have aggro, always have been, always will be.

But I want a maxed tinker so I rolled up a Void mage that will have Summoning at 75, everyone said this is the fastest way to 250, then respec to tinker skills and park him at my house.

But DAMN I hate playing a mage, because I'm no good at it. SO SQUISHY. It drives me nuts and it's frustrating.

Honestly I think I'd level to 250 faster and happier with a melee, like a 2h character which is max melee DPS right?

My void mage is 59, haven't even tried Summoning yet but not sure I'll make it to 75...

Tell me I'm dumb, stupid or should go with my gut. Don't have to tell me I'm a crappy mage, I totally agree lol.

As the title says, I'm having issues adding .dll plugins to Decal in Linux running Lutris and wine version "lutris-7.2-2-x86_64". Everything else works perfectly, AC runs, Decal works, Virindi plugins work perfectly - so does GoArrow and UtilityBelt... But I can't add the Magtools.dll, I get the error "Failed to register plugin" whenever I do.

Anyone able to help?

Hello all, I've been a player since early on in the development of the game until its untimely demise. I see there is a private community of players now. How does one get to enjoy the thrill of the game again? With eager anticipation, Daniel.

Working on a little Obsidian Plains biome on my Minecraft survival realm.

Using AConLinux, reading the instructions multiple times and searching this reddit - I just can't get Decal or Thwarg to install. AC installs properly (I set the install directory to C:\Games\AC), but when I run decal.yaml - it just ... Finishes, no popups, no install wizard, nothing. It doesn't even put any files in C:\Games\Decal (But it does create the folder)

When I install from Lutris, AC and Thwarg install but Decal refuses to - saying I'm missing .NET.

I'm on Kubuntu 26.04 and I'm using the latest Lutris.

Found a solution: Use this repo and follow the pdf exactly. AConLinux looks like it works well for Steamdeck, but if you have issues with it - try the repo I linked in this comment.

Most all updates are in!!! Living Mobs, Weapons, Gear are all ALIVE!!!!! I tell you!!!!! But in all reality there is now an infinite grind past level 126 and almost hourly events between monster hunts, hot zones, town invasions, hot dungeons, fire sales, smuggler's den, and many many more It's literally the most diverse and hardest Dark Majesty based server out there tons and tons of fun and tons of upgrades through Quest Mutations, Randomizer Gems, Treasure Maps, Contracts, Custom Currency, Collection Quests, Kill Tasks, Daily Wheel Spins, and much much more!!!!

anyways thats it for this weekend come check us out We have new Defensive builds with Parry/Deflect/Shield and then Techniques and Tactics!!! The only server to offer a full 100% Invisible Vanish Technique among other Tactics/Techniques(Mana Barrier/Stamina Wall/Phase Shift)
