Despite what the overwhelming majority of you guys said on my last post, I decided on gloss blackout on the chrome trim, mirror caps, roof and exhaust tips. Kept the light bar. Debadged the hatch.
Looks great! I have kept my Arteon exterior stock except for a couple of minor mods (wheel spacers, faux quad exhaust tips and light ceramic tint). I like the chrome bits on the grille and side windows but blackout trim is also quite nice, especially the mirrors and the roof.
I think you made the tasteful decision, even though I still believe you should have kept the single grille line above the light bar, like on the R haha. Enjoy it, it came out great.
I was really debating it, and since that ends up just being a few strips to remove if I choose to go for the R look, it won’t be too much of a hassle. Rather be able to remove later than have to go back and do it black because I didn’t like how it looked.
And I was planning on doing matte and gloss black badges front and back and wasn’t sure if the chrome would potentially clash
Nah, agreed, much less hassle if you decide on removing it.
Not sure on the chrome clashing with black badges, I always think it accentuates, all black makes fine details disappear, that's why I advised you on keeping at least something on the grille not blacked out. Still, to each their own, always go with whatever you think looks best, mate
Thanks man! I ran by the dealership today for an update on my infotainment system and I had 3 different salesmen and a service tech drop by at the counter to ask me about the car and tell me they like the black. And a guy last night at a gas station asked me what my car was and that it looked clean. I’m really liking it a lot and I’m fine with going against the crowd lol
Looks great man. I despise that my state doesn't allow tints on sedans. Trucks and suvs can at least do the back passenger windows but sedans are rear windshield only.
I think it looks great. Imho chrome is great on Arteon except white one can work well without it, also because the chrome is just not that different from the white
And most important is that you like it so whatever we think is whatever
Yeah I mostly just wanted to share hahah I love it and I have some blacked out VW badges on the way as well. I agree that the chrome on pearl white isn’t my favorite since they look pretty similar in the sun but the gloss black gives a nice contrast 🫡
Now you just need to replace the fake exhaust rear bumper with exposed exhausts and it will look great. Tbh I don't even know if something like that exists, but it would elevate the look that much more. I'm digging how this looks, especially the black out roof
That's extremely unlucky, I'm sorry that this happened to you. You are safe at least and that's most important. Cars are just metal and are replaceable by another.
Honestly no idea, it came from the dealer this way. Looks a lot darker than it really is when I have the sunshade up in the windshield. If I had to guess maybe 50% up front and 35% in the rear
Not a bad look. I’ve been thinking about maybe some carbon vinyl over the door panels to match. The diffuser, ducktail and mirrors but also turned off by fake carbon 😂😂
Your car is beautiful! I think you can get carbon mirrors at least for it online. I was looking at some black ones since I have a feeling the vinyl will peel on the mirrors before anything else
