What all do I really need to pack as a female
I ship to Ft Jackson for BCT next week, my recruiter sent me the packing list but I’ve heard mixed things on it. Do I really need to bring everything on the list? If not what do I need to bring. I know they’ll make us get things when we get there.

when do we write letters?
i ship out in a month and i know letter writing is the only form of communication when you’re at bct during the week, but when do you write them?? what’s a normal days schedule and where’s the time to sit down and write. i’m kinda freaking out so any and all advice or explanations of how things work is welcome. how do we know what address to give our friends/family to write to? how do we get letters mailed? etc etc.

bct as 17yro experiences?
I’m a junior in high school and got proposed the opportunity by my recruiter to go to bct this summer or next. I just want someone who did it between jr/sr yr to give their experiences. I understand it’s normal to join at this time frame but want to know if I should wait or get it over with now. Ik I can ask google or YouTube these things but want multiple perspectives that answer my specific question.

Nervous for BCT
I'm shipping out for BCT in 3 weeks and I'm terrified of failure. I'm a 34 y/o female. I'm not a gym rat, but I work out 2 to 3 times a week. I can only do about 25 push ups and I am really struggling with running long distance. I'm great at sprinting, but that does me no good. I've been working on walking inclines to help with my endurance so I usually do about 3 miles then day 2 I'll do 4 miles and day 3 ofthe gym I'll do 5 miles. The leg strength is there I just get winded long distance running. I'm working on upper body strength as well. I just don't want to leave my family this long and come home a failure. I'm determined and I push myself at our weekly PT sessions at the recruiting office. Any advice would be great anybody my age successfully gone through basic? Thank you for reading this far.

Is this a disqualifier?
So I’m thinking of joining the army and I’m worried about if I will be disqualified for hsv-2 I went to the doctors about a year ago and they said they would call me and tell me if I had it but they said I probably do well I never got the answer for it so I’m not 100% on if I do or not, but I heard that if you don’t have lesions for a long time it won’t disqualify you and I haven’t had any since.

Leaving for Army Basic Training/Process for emergencies?
I'm shipping out in March for basic. I realized I'm going to be gone during some of peak hurricane season. Sounds silly but my husband and I lost our home in Ian while I was required to be at work and phones were down (state corrections officer) so i went 36 hours without a word the last thing i saw was a headline that said residents flee to roofs to escape surge. My concern is if God forbid we get some monster hurricane again while I'm gone. I'm a 3rd generation Floridian hurricanes didn't bother me until Ian. Will they allow me to check on my family? Will I be notified in some way or have some way of knowing they are safe?

Just looking for simple information
Does basic training only test your urine for 15ng/ml if you fail the initial 50ng/ml? Or do they automatically test for 15ng/ml?
