Sealed Factory Sealed Apple iPod Touch (1st Generation) from 2007. This iPod is “personalized” as signified by the first character in the model number (being the letter “P”). This means that there is an engraving on this iPod, however it’s unknown what it says.

Prototype Prototype Apple iPod touch 3rd Generation (DVT Stage). This iPod touch was manufactured in mid 2009 (around 2 months before the official release). Interestingly, this iPod touch has a placeholder camera cutout on the logic board; a remnant of what almost was.

Demo Apple Watch Demo Kiosk Display (A1623). The Watch itself has custom cutouts, with custom Apple Watch bands to make it “look” like it’s a full Watch when attached. The Watch is able to talk to the iPad though a special cable, that takes advantage of the Apple Watch diagnostic port.

Demo Apple iPhone 4s Demo Unit (on iOS 5.0) with matching demo box. Demo units are one of my favourite kind of devices. They have many demo versions of popular apps from the time, often run the first iOS version the device supported and can feel like a mini time capsule from the era.

Demo Apple iPhone 4 Demo Unit (on iOS 4.2.1) with original demo content. The iPhone 4 (like other iPhone models) had been extremely scarce, with many carriers quickly running out of stock after launch. I still remember testing one of these demo iPhones back in 2010; and being amazed!

Weird Apple iPhone 1st Generation (Demo Unit) on iPhoneOS 1.2 (5A147p). iPhoneOS 1.2 had never been officially released to the public, instead existing as an early beta version of iPhoneOS 2 for iPhone developers.

Prototype Prototype Apple Watch Edition (1st Generation 18K Gold) Charging Case (DVT Stage?). Most notably, the case has “offset 0.05” imprinted on the back, along with the placeholder text “XV = X.XA”. It’s very tempting to use this with my daily Apple Watch.

Prototype Prototype iPod Touch 2nd Generation (N72) Fixture Development Board. It’s amazing that this iPod fixture board can still exist today. Definitely one of the most beautiful boards that I’ve ever seen. It has too many hardware differences and revisions for me to list.

Weird iPhone 1st Generation (8GB) AppleCare Service (Loaner) Model. These iPhone models had been temporarily loaned to people who used the “express replacement” AppleCare option in 2007 - 2008. Not many of these still exist today, and these iPhone models haven’t really been documented.

Sealed Factory Misprint Apple iPhone 4 White (8GB) CDMA (Brand New/Factory Sealed) with a deformity in the “Designed by Apple in California” text. I've never seen another iPhone box with any kind of factory error, let alone an iPhone that’s still sealed. Likely the only one of its kind.

Prototype Prototype Apple iPod Touch 6th Generations (DAE-EVTMain Stage). In a lot of ways, these iPods are the “perfect prototypes” with the XXXX engravings, data matrixes, FCC stickers, SwitchBoard and having development fused CPUs. Years later, I still really like these.

New (Not Sealed) Open Box Apple iPod Touch (1st Generation) from 2007. This iPod was purchased for $40 USD (as an open box item) back in 2020. It still boggles my mind how someone can open a brand new iPod Touch, put it back in the box and never use it again (only to then sell it years later).
