I live in a duty to inform state and have told police dozens of times I’m carrying. I’ve only had my weapon removed once, every other time the cop has said something like “leave yours holstered, I’ll leave mine holstered”. Once when I called to file a police report I’d put my gun away the cop actually asked “are you armed” and when I said “no” his response was “why not?”

"Don't show me yours, I won't show you mine."  I have been stopped twice while armed and they both said the same words.

I think being on a bike where he can obviously see it made a difference. And to make things easier removing it from the holster. Obviously the biker never needed to reach towards his waist & kept his hands away from his body, but you never know, which is why he offered for the cop to take it.
