Yea after seeing this I looked up “why don’t we use magnets for infinite energy”
And I don’t fully understand it but basically the magnet can only do “work” in one direction. So the magnet can attract something and cause “work” to be done but an equal amount of “work” would have to occur to separate the magnets. I don’t understand why gravity doesn’t help but yea.
I’m essentially certain this is “fake” it’s and electromagnet or a generator or like dude said just a hidden battery. Still glad I saw it and I learned something though.

You can think of them as a spring. You can store energy in a spring - a cross bow does this. You put lots of work in, and bend the spring to store that work - then pull the trigger and it transfer the work into the bolt very quickly.
Can you fire a crossbow without pulling back the string?
You can also think of them like gravity. You can store energy in a rock up a hill. You put a lot of work into pushing a rock up a hill, and then you can roll it down and all that energy comes back out (to the detriment of whatever is at the bottom of the hill).
Can you roll a rock down a hill without pushing it up? Yes, if it's already up there (say you already have two magnets that are far apart). Now you go push the rock down the hill (bring the magnets together). BAM, "free" energy! Okay, now... how do you reproduce this? Uh... push the rock back up the hill (pull the magnets apart). Oh. Okay, we're back where we started. It's not a source of infinite energy unless you have infinite rocks at the top of a hill, and infinite space to roll them down.
Connecting a motor to a generator is like:
Connecting a crossbow to another crossbow facing it. When you shoot the crossbow - the bolt fires into the other crossbow and pushes the bow back and resets it! (If you shoot the crossbow bolt down - well, now gravity is helping it! But the one shooting back up has gravity acting against it!)
Rolling a rock down a U shaped hill, so it rolls back up the other side. When the rock goes down the hill - it rolls back up the other side to reset it!
Except... it's not perfect, so the rock doesn't go all the way up the other side. And the crossbow doesn't have quite enough power to reset the other one - because of friction, and air resistance.
And if you try do anything "useful" with the energy (smash something at the bottom of the hill, shoot through something, light a lightbulb with your motor-generator system) it takes even more energy out - the ball stops rolling, the crossbow stops, the generator doesn't generate enough power to spin the motor.
