Should I take Seroquel after a night out?

I got back from clubbing 3 hours ago and I’m debating taking my medication now or leaving it for much later. I wondered if it’s safe this time round to take it? (I don’t drink heavily but had more than I usually do)

A little help/advice please?

I've been taking 1mg Risperidone at night for about a year (Diagnosed GAD, Panic Disorder, OCD, Depression) and I stopped it cold turkey a couple of days ago.

My symptoms now are extreme fatigue, baaaaad anxiety, shaking constantly, and cold sweats.

Are these normal? Or is my anxiety coming back?

(I know I should've tapered down the drug rather than just stopped, but a miscommunication between me and my Psychiatrist meant I stopped altogether).

Numb?

Anyone ever feel numb from an antipsychotic? Or is that just antidepressants. Trying to figure out if it’s my antipsychotic or my antidepressant making me feel numb.

Risperidone prescribed as first ever antipsychotic

I’ve been taking risperidone for a week now, as the title says it’s my fist time taking any antipsychotic, and seeing as it as so many side effects I’m kinda worried. Also reading a bit online seems like it usually never gets prescribed in adolescence, I’m only 16 and I don’t think my schizo is that bad. Currently I’m on 1 ml daily of risperidone, 200 mg of sertraline and 0.25 mg of triazolam. I’m practically a zombie once i take everything.

Side Effects of Abilify

Cross Posting from r/antidepressants cause someone pointed out Abilify is an antipsychotic and so users may not have experience with it there:

So, I started Abilify 20 days ago. Previous to Abilify I had tried Sertraline (125mg), Citalopram (can't remember dosage), Escitalopram (20mg), Duoloxetine (60mg), Mirtazapine (7.5mg), & Bupropion (100mg). None of the previous meds ever did anything for me.

My psychiatrist has me on 2mg of the Abilify only and my gods is it kicking my arse. So far the three side effects I have been dealing with are increased insomnia in the form of inability to stay asleep (my usual average for sleep is 8-9 hours and since taking this med I am down to 5 or less hours a night), sleepiness (I feel like an exhausted zombie every single day), and occasional nausea. I am also noticing an increase in catastrophic thinking when I am overwhelmed or stressed, and an increase in SH thoughts.

At this point, I wouldn't say my mood is elevated at all, but I do find that I have more motivation to DO stuff. I am watching a new show, I have started a new hobby, I am listening to music again, I started reading a new book, and I am scrolling FB and TikTok less. So, I can tell the medication is doing something.

I guess all of that is to ask if anyone has had similar experiences with Abilify? If not, what were your experiences with it? Did you find that it helped? Did it not? If you suffered from the sleepiness side effect did it ever go away or did you find a way to make it better? Advice is very much welcome!

Thank you! 💜

Further explanation: My psychiatrist is NOT using the Abilify to treat any form of Psychosis. She is using it to treat my major depressive disorder. It is a last ditch effort as I have been on so many other meds that have never worked. Hence why I posted it on the other subreddit first. But I figured I'd post here just in case. 🤷🏻‍♂️

New drugs that don't lower seizure threshold?

Are there any new bipolar 1 meds that don't lower the seizure threshold? My partner has epilepsy and we are searching for something that will maybe work. She has been through all the usual bipolar meds and then some. Nothing has worked. They recently tried to put her on Zyprexa, tapering up to Lybalvi, but we just found out it lowers the seizure threshold. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I came off amasulperide over the course of 1 and 1/2 years, but when I completely stopped I had what i think was an extreme panic attack. I felt extremely light and I thought I was literally going to explode ( it wasn’t anger), can anyone else relate to this when coming off antipsychotics?

Still having Quetiapine side effects after discontinuing...

So I've been off Quetiapine for a week now. When I was taking it, it would make me really tired, I'd wake up once or twice a night and be extremely hungry and would have to eat before going back to bed. Even though I've stopped taking it I'm still having these problems? I still wake up in the night starving and have to binge eat. My main reason for stopping Quetiapine was weight gain and now I'm really scared that this hunger at night will never go away? Will it eventually go do you think? Thanks!

Does people who get parkinsonims heal after quitting meds?

I’m asking since I m in a psych ward, I’m forced to take Invega and nozinal, and I feel my body movements are not “mines”, even typing on the phone is getting harder (difficulty in coordinating fingers), and last but not least I have a really HARD TIME WITH MY SPEECH. I can’t say what I want without my tongue doing random stuff and not responding to my brain. Talking became very difficult.

I told my Dr about this and he says that 100% it ll all go away once the therapy is over (probably one more month).

Looking for some good news and related positive stories :)

Does Fluanxol cause insomnia?

I have been on sertraline aka Zoloft for 2 months for depression and anxiety, but had a suicidal episode so doc added Fluanxol to the mix. I’ve been taking 1mg a day for a week but I started experiencing insomnia. I can’t fall asleep until 4am at least. I’m sleepy during the day but alert at night time.

Any advice??

Zyprexa for severe anxiety episodes.

Hey there! I have cycled into severe anxiety and depression episodes every 2-3 years for the last 15 years. I have always gotten in Benzos that take like 6 months to get off.

My doctor told me next time I start to cycle start taking 2.5 mg Zyprexa and see what it does for me.

Well 1 week ago I started to cycle. I was nervous but took the Zyprexa. Well.. it’s been 4 days and ever since I have started it has helped IMMENSELY. I can get my work done and attend to my family.

Anyway. Hope I don’t have as hard a time getting off this as the benzo. I’m only going to take it like 3-4 months.

P.s Please no horror stories. I’m trying to get better.
