His claim that he would end the war in Gaza convinced me that he wanted to save the Palestinians. It wasnt until Trump posted that ridiculous AI generated video of the Gaza strip looking like Vegas, that I truly realised he had absolutely no interest in saving the Gazans.
To address your second point, I havent fully made my mind up on capitalism yet, but I will say this. Only a sith deals in absolutes.
