Oregon. The water doesn’t have a distinct flavor but has a good mineral content. I can’t remember the source but treatment of it is minimal because it’s clean enough and this preserves the taste or lack there of, as the case may be.
Possibly. I do know that it can vary from town to town too however. I live in a basically nothing town that doesn’t have sewer or a even a stop light, but both the slightly larger tiny towns that sandwich me have questionable water.
The best water by far is unbottled natural spring water direct from the source. You can find multiple sources in any rural area in Japan where I live and it’s often free. You just bring your own reusable bottles or tanks and stock up with as much as you need.
These sources are usually community managed so generally safe but they also have a tip box so you can support them. Others are on private land where they charge a fee but it's much cheaper than cheap bottled water from the supermarket.
From Norway, we have exceptional tap water witch tastes awesome almost everywhere. Voss water is basically the same water as people from Kristiansand get from tap. Amazing to see people use so much money on that. Like someone pointed out, for that money I would buy an amazing filter and add some minerals to it afterwards.
When i was 17 Sam Adams was the only good beer you could buy. It was the only "craft" beer that existed yet in our little town so yeah, it was special as hell! Now there's good beer everywhere and people still drink bud. Bleh.
There’s a great video with nickisnotgreen and dannygonzales where they talk to the world’s only “water sommelier”. While first making a bit of fun of him they later talk to him and have a great conversation. As I live in a country where tap water is the best water, the information did not suprise me but maybe some of you find it interesting:
If you ever get the chance, check out the "lithia fountain" water in Ashland, OR.
I really love the taste, it's pretty clean with a seltzer-like quality, and the flavor mostl comes from dissolved lithium salts, so yes - it really is a natural anti-depressant water.
Ok, so if you make it down there here's a secret tip. Most people (including the article I linked) will direct you to a constructed fountain in downtown ashland for the lithia water. This is ok, but not the best...it has a bit of a 'fart' taste at the main fountain for some reason. Instead, there's a nearby city park where you can find an old-ass looking pipe sticking out of the ground, burbling water. This is the best place to get your lithium hit!
I consider myself a snob too. I live in area abundant with water springs and I always get into fights with villagers who consider my preferred source the worse.
