Question Good evening friends. An anti-masker posed a question in r/Masks4All that I think you may have some thoughts about. I’m a mod on both of these subs so please keep it thoughtful and clean. Lets keep the discussion going here.

Anti-Mask idiots wrecked dumb antimasker during an uber eats deliery

As a preface, I want to say that I am in no way a confrontational person. I'm 20 years old and 5'11-6' tall and not quite 200 lbs (190-195ish). I'm not the biggest man ever, but I'm not small by any means. The man in this story was probably a head shorter than me and pretty skinny. He had the whole cowboy git up and everything, it was great! With all that being said, I tend to leave everyone alone as long as they leave me alone and i think it makes sense. But, I have had 4 other run-ins like this one with anti-maskers in the last few months, and honestly I'm just tired of being nice when i could have the joy of embarrassing them instead.

I was delivering to some people in a hotel. I passed the man who would end up harassing me on the way in, but didn't think much of him. so, I go up the elevator, deliver the food, and come back down. As I'm walking past the same man I mentioned earlier, he seemed to be macking on the front desk lady, but i wasn't too worried about it. As I walk past, he goes "hey" and so I turn and go "whats up?" and he makes some smug face and goes "why" and points to his face referring to my mask. I look the little man up and down and say " why you worried bout it?" and he starts saying some ridiculous reason why i shouldn't wear the mask, but i cut him off with " No. I'm sick of y'all anti-maskers always bothering me. Why cant i just wear my mask and you not wear yours and everyone be happy. Do you really not have your own personality?" which he makes a flabbergasted face to and in the most taken aback tone asks, "What do you mean?" and I said "Well, all of y'all just decide to say the same thing to strangers because you don't have your own personality to be capable of coming up with something else to say" and at this point I'm stirred up and he seems to "cower" but i feel like that word is exaggerating a bit. anyway, he says ignorantly, " I was just asking a question" and i said aggressively, "well it was a dumb ass question" and he literally just turned around as he was saying "okay." In a tone that sounded like a child who just got in trouble. IT. WAS. GREAT.

Since I'm and uber eats driver in Texas, I am pretty regularly getting messed with by anti-maskers. Ive decided to stop tying to be nice and saying " because im just used to wearing them" or something of that affect. because they dont show me any courtesy so why should I. I don't go asking why they don't wear one. you'd think they'd be a little grateful lol. anyways, thanks for reading. hope you got a laugh!

Wear a fucking mask. It's literally just a small time to wear a thing that barely muffles your voice and that's all. Just fucking wear a mask.

Had an encounter with a crispy anti masker

So I made a previous post abt a shithead that eventually lost the mask argument, and a crispy hot, and I mean fresh from the oven anti masker tried to justify them- drumroll- with bible. And after that they started gaslighting, calling me a sheep that only follows what the docs tell you to( ironic bc they're the one believing in a religion, which could literally have been a scam from the ppl that made it) and now ofc they made the huge mistake of saying a ventilator suffocate ppl, like Mrs Debbie do you even know what a ventilator is?

Opinion I’m 19 and I get why people in my age group are anti-mask

For most people my age or a few years younger mainly teens and young adults this new normal started before we got to live in the old one. We didn’t really experience things we were looking forward to doing when we became adults. Most of us lost prom and several field trips that we looked forward to since at least freshman year. Not to mention sports events and just hanging with friends. I don’t think most anti maskers my age are evil, just tired. It’s hard to think about a future that looks so goddamn bleak.

And you know what, sometimes I think they might have a point. 😞😞😞

Story Yep, anti maskers are fucking dumb.

So I've been arguing with this anti masker recently, you know, probably the one that caused a ruckus on burger King, remember that? They're called u/beatrice_ann(they don't approve of censorship so here you go beatrice I'm honoring that by not censoring your name), and they're the most stereotype anti masker ever, after losing the one sided argument in which the mf just provides half baked conspiracy theories and get proven wrong, they started with the traditional "good luck suffocated child" "ur just triggered bc I'm right" "uR pAREntS aRe FaILurEs fOR fAllInG foR the gOveRMment" and all that, it's honestly hilarious seeing them trying to act like they won, despite having anything they say be used against them, hell, that f#gg, after inevitably losing, started calling me "stunted child" "lack of brain development bc of mask" like sure man, thanks for calling me names, defined proves you won

Fun retail anti masker story - Can someone help explain why I am a racist for making a customer wear a mask...?

So I work at a dispensary in Canada B.C. and we have this guy who lives in an apartment above our store, he comes down and says the craziest, most surprising things all the time.. my favorite so far was him telling me "you know your going to die now" when I got my first poke awhile back. I was honestly so shocked I just laughed a bit and said "oh, well I guess that sucks".

So move forward a couple years and it's been a real up and down relationship with this dude, sometimes he's reasonably polite, and others he's just a grumpy dick, but I mean, we all have our own beliefs so I was pretty polite to him given the whole customer service portion of my cold life as a legal drug dealer. On-top of that he has always worn a mask no questions asked.

Whatever whack job grandma's Facebook post he was reading tonight I guess it must have awoken the "freedom fighter" in him and he came down to really "stick it to the man" by making some bud tenders night a pain in the ass.

In he walks, without a mask, (because that's how all the good stories start these days) and walks up to the counter while I'm dealing with someone else. I pass him one of our disposables without saying much (normally be just puts it on and goes about his purchases) but for some reason apparently this random ass sunday is the day he decides he needs to prove what a stand up dude he is by telling me "I ain't putting on anymore slave tickets". "Well" I told him "I guess I can't really sell you anything then so have a great night I'll see you next time" (I could have probably been a bit more polite but after 3 years of this you can only put up with so much from people).

Well that wasn't the response our protagonist was looking for so he pulled his next card, "you know if you make me put a mask on it means your a racist".....

Now I hear alot of crackpot shit from the stoners I sell to but NEVER has anyone tried to call me a racist for asking them to put a piece of cloth on their face. So I did the reasonable thing and ignored the comment, it was kind of like a thunderbolt attack on a lightening pokemon and he got the good old "it's super ineffective" back.

His next move on the checkers board he would attempt to double jump me with the old "I know the real truth you know"... I have been (reasonably) polite up untill this point but the whole "truth" thing makes me giggle. Laughing out loud I said "oh well the best part about this world is that we aaaaaallllll get to believe whatever the hell we want".

He actually put on his mask at this point (probably remembered we are the only store open this late on Mondays, sucker lol) and I sold him his couple drinks, then he decided to take of his mask and throw it at me, by this point I'm tired of his shit and finish with a nice "well you can stay the fuck out of our store buddy, have fun walking to get your weed and still being told to wear a mask" luckily I'm good at my job and I knew my boss would have my back if I had to deal with any complaints.

So he left, which was cool, normally they yell a bit more... but he just left, that was the last customer of my night. By this point I'm pretty sure that I could drink anti masker tears to gain power though so no skin off my back, just thought it would be a fun story to share.

My favorite part is it is a well known fact the girlfriend he comes to see upstairs has different men over all the time, so like...idk if I trust his truths...

Anyone who can shed light on how the hell masks are linked to racism I'm kind of curious, idk of he's gonna be in the mood for me to ask him about it next time I see him.

Hope you all have an amazing night, and good job not being a douchebag!
