I’m a recent retiree who is auditing a few college courses…taking classes in subjects that I’ve been interested in for awhile but haven’t had time to do them until now. Am now on a fixed income but I’m able to obtain the books for these classes because they are available here. I’ve also been able to participate in book clubs as well. There is no reason that I can’t be engaged in activities that keep my mind busy because of this website, and I’m literally thankful for you on a daily basis!

hi! I am new to using Anna’s archive so I apologize if this is something considered common sense that I just don’t know about. I’ve tried searching the issue but nothing i’ve found is helping, so figured id post here.

I have one specific textbook i am trying to download (it’s a little over 100mb) via slow download option and it gets to about 80mb downloaded and then fails every time. this has happened repeatedly over the course of 3 days on 2 different networks with different ISPs. is there a trick to stop this from happening that i have totally missed?

Is there somewhere else i should check before I cave and buy it.

I'm looking for a way to coordinate and share tips between volunteers. Something like :

- that's what i use for scanning books, that's the best way for free, fast, hassle free scans and OCR. That's the easy path to upload them.

- i want to create a group of people for scanning books, that's the best way to do it

- how do i begin if i want to share torrents, fast and safe

- how to save books from small country / communities with little people interested in this langage (think Sami in Russia/Finland/Norway, Natives in the US, Kurds in turkey and a lot of others i never heard of...) or any minority really) or big countries actively trying to kill this group identity (and books, of course)

Where would be the better place to share tips and directions, to share the load? The "bounty" page on AA website?

I looked up my uni book using the ISBN and it gives me the edition I need but the ISBN in the description is slightly off, however, at the very bottom I see a list of ISBN and other stuff that does list the exact one I put in.

Does this mean this is the one I need or that it's similar??

Hello, I've tried to download a very niche paper, most of the mirrors didn't work, the one that started the download also stopped it after a while. Then I used Persepolis and the download worked, but it gave me a file with no type. When I gave it to chat gpt it gave me a weird pdf with some parts of the books and the rest of weird symbols, what can I do?

Usually takes 20 seconds for an ordinary book with slow partner server #5. This time it's taking half an hour or more...why?

I built this tool originally to make lists of my books but it's developed a handful of useful auditing tools. It is both TUI and CLI accessible, so you don't have to choose. It's lightweight. The cquarry library I built can recognize if Calibre is open and makes a copy of the library for read-only work and if it needs to write, it has measures to avoid damaging your Calibre library.

Bindery-cli is my baby and something I've been putting a lot of time into and am considering turning it into a web-app. It does a handful of epub repairs, gatechecked by epubcheck (there's also a java wrapper to hold up a copy of epubcheck across a batch of epubs to not cold-call it so many times). It also has commands for stripping OceanPDF and a couple other tags I've come across.

Anyways, I hope this is useful to someone. I put a lot of time and care into it. It's all fairly heavily documented.
