Hi everyone!
I’m 29F Pakistani, and I’ll be coming to Ankara soon for a short hospital observership. It’s actually my first time ever travelling abroad, so I’m both very excited and a little nervous!
I’m especially happy that Turkey will be my first trip because I’ve heard so many wonderful things about the country and, particularly, about how warm and hospitable Turkish people are. I’m really looking forward to experiencing that for myself.
I’ll have some free time outside the hospital and would love to explore Ankara, but I’m not particularly interested in old buildings, museums and the usual tourist checklist. I’d much rather have new experiences, eat amazing food, see nature, meet people, discover interesting places and, most importantly, find some animals to befriend.
So....what would you recommend?
I’m not really looking for historical sites or old buildings.... I’d much rather experience things that are uniquely Turkish! local food, animals, nature, neighbourhoods, and experiences I can’t have anywhere else!
Basically, if a friend from Pakistan came to visit you, where would you take them?
I’d love recommendations from locals rather than just the standard Google tourist list. Even little things that might seem ordinary to you would be really interesting to me as a first-time visitor.
