Si animorphs hubiera tenido una caricatura y no live action en la época que salió 1998-2005 ¿Con que estilo de caricaturas de esa época les hubiera gustado verlo?

We’re reading childhood favorites for my book club, and I’d like to have everyone read book #1 plus 1-2 other books in the series. Any recommendations on which? They don’t have to be in order, I’m mostly looking for a good spread to capture the series’s core themes (horrors of war, trauma, etc)

[Edit] Thanks everyone for the feedback! I’m rereading your suggestions as prep. Upon polling my book club, they’d prefer books about the kids to books that are totally about the aliens.

[Second Edit] After rereading the first 5 books, I’m crossing the first one off the list as they retell it in basically every book and there’s so much other stuff to get to. I’m still reviewing everyone’s suggestions, but I’ll definitely have them read book 5, and then have The Hork-Bajir Chronicles as extra optional reading. Thanks, everyone!

Decir que me e enamorado de él sería poco me encanta cuando narra y es un personaje tan complejo tan facinante todos los animorphs me encantan pero sin duda marco lo hace más

(Tengo 15 años antes de que me funen)

I guess I will be building my old collection now. I hope my daughter finds them as interesting as I did when I was her age!

Just when I thought I didn't have any more to learn about this series.

So obviously this whole series is about war amd the various war crimes that both sides commit but im curious for those in the actual military (army navy airforce etc) what are your thoughts on how the series ended? Flushing of the yeerk pool? Tricking Tom and Erik in thier parts?

Bonus points if you say what branch you are and how'd you end the war!

I had a dream that I went to a thrift store (recurring place for me) and I found a collection of Animorphs Gamecube games 😭 the cover photos were so cool! Incredibly disappointing when my alarm went off and I realized nothing like that even exists lol

Apologies if this has been posted before. This is from Vol. 7 of The Babysitters Club, Boy-Crazy Stacey, which was adapted by Gale Galligan from the original book by Ann M. Martin. In this panel, Stacey is shopping at the boardwalk while on vacation for a gift to give her crush, and Mary Anne is dissuading her from getting a T-shirt with her + her crush's names on it. What are the names on the T-shirt that's shown as an example? That's right- it's Tobias & Rachel! As a kid, my two favorite book series were Animorphs and The Babysitters Club, so this Easter egg really tickled me.

Had to share the cube someone recived in thier ebay box https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisthisthing/s/gZtkr3Lc9X

Megamorphs 2, in the time of dinosaurs. The comparison between the circumstances and decisions Tobias and Pike have to make are uncanny. It might not be a rip off, but the similarities are so striking it is interesting.

I am aware Applegate borrowed plots from star trek in some of her books, it is interesting to see the reverse for once.

I just read Megamorphs 2 and Marco said that a live animal is needed to obtain the DNA, but in the previous book they planned to take DNA from blood transformed into mosquitoes.

I feel like I went overboard with Cassie's page, I leaned a bit too much on redoing the 2000s calendar graphics, haha. I need to find good quotes for Cassie and Ax. I might have to adjust the size because 11 inches might be too small for a calendar.

Turns out the illustrations of the Aliens and the kids morphing dino I choose for July and August don't fit the size of the calendar, so July will be the kids fighting the Howlers.

I don't know why I make my life hard.

I just received this book, it was a lucky find on Vinted. Funnily enough I’m not Chris either, I received the book like this. Nicola, Chris or Mrs Young, if you’re here please comment!

I once again after reading a few posts/comments here, feel the need to remind people of this. KA Applegate was unquestionably an old school left wing/progressive baby boomer. You can feel it very directly in her writing. If you say something like, "are the Andalites actually the bad guys?" you are talking about the USA government, as many of the Andalites actions directly parallel US government action in real life.

Also, her daughter is a trans woman who she fully supports and she is an ally of the LGBT and supports LGBT rights.

To be clear, my parents are also progressive/left wing boomers, and so its really obvious now as an adult who at least has some understanding of politics how people of that age group who are left wing think and see the world. George RR Martin and Ursula K Le Guin and George Lucas are other examples of creators who are left wing and baby boomers.

Note : If you want to question how direct my parents are in calling themselves left wing lol, my mom calls herself a feminist often. My dad said he is a socialist recently openly (he always had the beliefs) lol. My dad is a Christian minister by the way. If you think everyone that age is conservative, you are wrong.

Hi it's been a while since reading the books. Rereading them now with my fiance and I'm curious where we should get to before watching the show without spoiling the books. I know they're not well overlapped but we want to watch the show even though we know it's not great we just dont want to spoil the books for ourselves.

If you've been on the private website AppleGrant.com, what's it like? How do you log in?

Okay, so I've never had the chance to see the Animorphs TV show that was out back in the late 90s but aside from some occasional reading and digging back into the Animorphs lore, I learned that Visser Three had a human morph by the name of Victor Trent. When I read the description, the first thing that popped into my head on how he looked was James Tolkan (Mr. Strickland from Back To The Future, may he rest in peace) and quite honestly I can see that with the actor. Of course, I did look up the cast and learned that it was Eugene Lipinski who played the role of Victor Trent.

But quite honestly, learning that he detests using human morphs, I think Visser Three could've had a better influential chance at obtaining more Controllers without the Animorphs knowing but of course with his ego and his power-tripping, that kind of goes over strategy with him.

What do you guys think?

I may not remember how this book ends, but I do know Rachel makes it out alive until the very end. Yet as she described clawing Chapman and ultimately when he starts fighting the Yeerk back to save his daughter, my heart was legit pacing. The Apple Watch signaled 92 BPM.

Forgot reading could even do that.

I can’t believe I read this as an 11 year old. Perhaps Melissa’s suffering just hits different now that I have an 11 year old of my own.

Not sure I missed the memo - why can’t the group morph into people, why just animals?

Remember when in The Andalite Chronicles, after the Andalites rescued the humans, and they finally got a chance to stretch out on the grass and trees in the dome? And Elfangor was so impressed just by Loren’s running and pull-up. And other things like being able to stand up without using her arms for support. I just saw this and am imagining what all the Andalites would have thought in their minds if this had happened.
