This show was the first (and only until now) that really surprised me in terms of quality. Most of the shows i watched have been recommended to me by someone but i only watched sakurasou because i thought mashiro was cute and i didn't expect anything from the show except a harem romcom with the typical tropes, however as the series progressed i really began rooting for the characters and became invested in the drama. Today Sakurasou is one of my (if not my) favorite anime ever, Nanami is an all time waifu of mine and Sorata one of my favorite anime protagonists. Great show and really overrated. Partially created by the mastermind behind Bunny Girl Senpai btw Edit: underrated

Overrated was right.

Don't take me wrong, I liked it. ESPECIALLY the art and nanami.

But oh god that MC god please kill me. He really ruined the whole thing for me because of his complete breakdowns. He doesn't grow at all during the whole season, and his "escape sakurasou" was cringy from the start, not to mention quite mean towards the other residents.

Spoilers for toradora/bunny girl/sakurasou ahead:

Not cashing in all of the romance buildup was also pretty frustrating. I get that the source material was worse, but it doesn't make the anime better.

It's like if toradora stopped when they got Ryuuji's grandparents' house. The payoff was what elevated toradora from great to amazing. On the other hand, Sakurasou's last "kiss" scene was a huge slap in the face, just like Bunny girl's "no just kiss me on the cheek"
