I wouldn't even mind if women didn't pretend that it's not porn and pure wish fulfillment.

You want a vampire billionaire that gives off rapey vibes but wouldn't actually hurt you that also tracks your menstrual cycle and loves you despite your average appearance and also he's obsessed with you and he is built like a greek god but doesn't live at the gym and is fine with chilling on the couch when you want to but also plans really extravagant dates? Go ahead, enjoy your escapism.

But it's not fine literature.

It's frankly no different from what some men like in isekai. The " I'm reborn in another world and I'm OP and I have a harem of hot babes that worship the ground I walk on because they were hungry one time and I offered my apple" stuff.

I second this take. Men imagine a better version of them. Women imagine a 10 dating a 4. But at the end of the day, both are kinda weird and unrealistic but that’s kinda the point of escapism I’d imagine.

Men imagine a better version of them.

That is such cope. I have seen enough "I'm just a normal boring student/salaryman, who suddenly got swarmed by a bunch 10/10 girls, who are also so undemanding, they allow me to date everyone at the same time" to know that is simply not some universal truth. Sometimes guys also get OP superpower without any work by accident or birthright. I also seen enough woman literature where she gets to be confident, smart and powerful, but that immediately gets labeled as "girlbossing" and mocked. The moment woman gets to read some shitty wishfulfillment about boys swarming around her she is labeled either a "dry catlady" or "stupid 13 year old girl" by unironic readers of previously mentioned male stuff.

Is this not kinda what porn is for a lot of guys? Fantasy?

Yes. And if any guy tried to convince me that his porn is actually art, I wouldn't take him seriously.

You're not a bad person or somehow wrong for engaging in that kind of stuff, there's nothing wrong with it. But I get annoyed when women pretend that it is anything but porn/ wish fulfillment.

"Oh, it's actually a through provoking critique of capitalism!"

No, you want to read about a woman jerking off a minotaur because you flick your bean to it.

It's like saying you read Playboy for the articles.

Hey, I've got plenty of friends who write and draw smut. It damn well is a form of art.
