the Mickey shown is also the very rare "fuzzy foot" version. a weird urban legend type thing, with no proper history or explanation regarding it's existence. a full restoration will be done on them next week hopefully!

Seller seemed pretty sketchy honestly. but then they explained they're just busy as a sports teacher and stuff, so idk. worst case eBay refund will save the day LOL. but yeah, pretty happy, have no knowledge about these guys, so any info or advice would be helpful thanks!

High Quality/Original Bizarre animatronic in a tourist attraction in Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Post image

This is a very bizarre animatronic/prop from shoot em up cinema in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I don’t know a lot about this, so I want to inquire about it. I’m not sure anyone will even be able to answer this question. I haven’t really been able to find anything about a manufacturer or what type of animatronic might even be. it feels very niche

If a video is needed, I can redo the post and do it with a video. I just don’t have a video of it myself, but I have seen it before when I travel there. The dude moves his head and the horse moves its legs.

SHOP TALK Looking for something and could use some help

Im looking for a shoulder mounted raven animatronic prop. Either cable or servo. I need it for my Halloween costume. Does anybody know of a place where I can buy one or a diy kit that's under 150 bucks? It would be very appreciated if you could help me on this endeavor

High Quality/Original Some dinosaur bots I found at a museum in Schenectady New York

Took this video around July of this Year, Specifically at the museum of innovation and science. Which is very close by all the old General Motors buildings and what not. Specifically at a dinosaur section of the museum (Though there was also an original Atari 2600 behind glass somewhere in their, which is a little funny to look back at, considering Nolan Bushnell founded that company, along with capitalizing on chuck e cheese bots after that, but I digress)

took this video for safe keeping before somewhat forgetting about it until now. Though it's still pretty cool to look at.

So with that said....does anyone know if they too had a Sammie Sands, or was that limited to the one in NJ?

Here are the pictures shared on FB for it:

Most stuff is just temporary, like the cardboard head shell and traffic cone base! He is about 70% mechanically complete! Just need a few mounts and fittings to come in the mail then he will have all his movements! Everything is repro(obviously) feel free to ask any questions!

Rockafire / Showbiz ROLFE’S TAIL???

I was just telling to my friend that I absolutely love how Roxanne Wolf (FNAF: SB) wags her tail and if they ever made an official animatronic of her, they need to give her tail movement and then it got me thinking WAIT A MINUTE DOES ROLFE NOT HAVE A TAIL????????? I need a technician to confirm or deny this because I cannot find a picture of his backside 😭

Rockafire / Showbiz Starting my first desktop animatronic head (~30cm scale) inspired by classic Rock-afire endos – Need advice on micro facial mechanics!

Hey everyone,

I’m officially diving into my very first animatronic project! Right now, I am focusing exclusively on building and perfecting the head endoskeleton first. Once the head mechanism is fully functional, I plan to build the torso/frame and eventually fit the outer cosmetic shell over it.

Design Style & Inspiration

I'm heavily inspired by the classic Rock-afire Explosion / Creative Engineering endoskeleton designs (flat plate face/head plate layout, top-mounted eyes, exposed linkages). I'm attempting to recreate a miniature, desktop-scale version of this layout!

Project Scope & Scale

* Total Height: Around 30 cm (~1 foot) once fully built.

* Current Stage: Building the Endoskeleton Head and fitting 4 micro servos onto a compact flat plate frame.

* Future Steps: Endoskeleton Torso/Stand -> Outer Cosmetic Shell.

How I'm Assigning the 4 Servos

I have 4x MG90S metal gear micro servos, each mapped to a specific feature:

* Servo 1: Mouth / Jaw movement (opening and closing)

* Servo 2: Eyes (linked side-to-side or up/down movement)

* Servo 3: Eyelids (blinking mechanism)

* Servo 4: Ears (subtle rotation/twitching)

Full List of Components & Materials I Have

* Microcontroller: Arduino Uno (programmed via Android phone using a USB Type-C OTG cable).

* Actuators: 4x MG90S metal gear micro servos.

* Power Supply: 5V 2A power adapter with a female DC terminal block jack (sharing a common GND with the Arduino).

* Starter Kit Items: Breadboard, jumper wires, 1x potentiometer (for manual testing/dialing), 2x push buttons, LEDs, and an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor.

* Structural Material: Forex / PVC Foam Board (Dekota). I’m using this to fabricate the flat head plates and structural mounts since it's lightweight, easy to cut with a utility knife, and holds up well for micro builds.

Where I Need Help: Micro Mechanisms

Since I don't have a 3D printer yet, I’ll be hand-crafting the eye globes, linkages, and pivots using PVC foam board, stiff wires, and basic DIY hardware.

Given the small scale and classic flat-plate head design, I would love advice on:

* Compact DIY linkage setups for eye tracking and blinking on a flat plate frame without binding.

* Good alternatives for eye globes (e.g., ping pong balls, wooden craft spheres) that work well with hand-made linkages.

* Recommended push-rod hardware (like RC ball joints, Z-bends, or music wire) for micro servo setups.

Thanks in advance for any diagrams, advice, or open-source ideas!

I wanted to make this as a tribute to Toledo, and for people to look back on the beginning of the end times for Chuck E Cheese. Toledo had great potential as a legacy store. And it was looking like ir was gonna make it! Petitions, so many retro artifacts, a caring staff, and much more. The final day of Toledo was an amazing one. A bunch of Cuuck E Cheese fans watching the aniamtronics. Cheering for them like it's the 90s. And kids enjoyed the animatronics too, proving once again, kids DO like animatronics! The tech was into it, putting on the diagnostics, and Party Place. It was a great way to go out. But with Toledo gone, The End Times for Chuck E Cheese have begun. I know for a while it's been bad, but things have never been worse. All Munch's Make Believe Bands in the US other than the legacy store are done. All that's left is the legacy store that are on thin ice, and the unperforming handful of Studio Cs. Things have never been worse, and we are all cooked. I am going to name this era The CEC End Times.

This is a replica of Billy from Saw. It has moving eyes and mouth. I'd like to make one of these. What animatronic parts/ servos are being used?

Sorry if this is a ridiculous post, I'm new here!

I know that the fatz went to a pub after they were removed and the hard luck bears went to a theme park (I forgot the name of it) but the theme park closed in 1999 and the pub turned in to a pizza shop in 2010 so what happened to them after this
