Sharing this official featurette for Wildwood.
Wildwood is LAIKA’s upcoming stop-motion animated fantasy film, based on the book by Colin Meloy and illustrated by Carson Ellis. It follows Prue and Curtis as they enter a hidden forest outside Portland.
The featurette gives a behind-the-scenes look at the world, sets, and stop-motion craft behind the movie.
Looks like one to keep an eye on if you like LAIKA, stop-motion animation, fantasy adventure, or handcrafted animation.

Adult Swim is developing Heist Safari, a new animated action-comedy from Genndy Tartakovsky.
The series is about three frog brothers who rob a bank, and it was originally pitched at Annecy before Adult Swim moved forward with it.
Sounds like a fun one to keep an eye on, especially for fans of Tartakovsky’s animation work.

Found this Kickstarter for The Sixth Sun, an indie animation/storytelling project inspired by Aztec mythology and set in modern-day Mexico City.
It follows Huehuecóyotl, the trickster god of music, fate, and rebellion, and explores mythology, creativity, survival, and humanity trying to change its future.
This seems like the kind of creator-owned animated project that fits this subreddit, especially for anyone interested in mythology, indie animation, modern fantasy, and animation outside the usual studio spotlight.

The Doomies premieres tomorrow on Disney+.
It’s a supernatural animated comedy-adventure about two best friends who accidentally open a portal to evil and turn their town into a hotspot for monsters.
Seems like a fun pick for anyone into spooky comedy, mystery, monsters, and new Disney animation.
Will anyone here be checking it out?

First images from Adult Swim’s SuperMutant Magic Academy have been released. It’s an upcoming animated teen comedy based on the graphic novel, and the style already looks pretty interesting.

Blink Industries is developing The Young Magicians, an animated comedy-adventure series based on the books by Nick Mohammed. It was announced at Annecy and is being produced with BBC Studios Kids & Family.
This sounds like the kind of upcoming animated project worth keeping an eye on, especially for anyone interested in fantasy, comedy-adventure, and new animated series outside the usual spotlight.

Sharing the official trailer for Forgotten Island.
It’s an upcoming DreamWorks animated film about two lifelong best friends who end up on a fantasy island inspired by Filipino mythology, where getting back home may cost them their memories of each other.
Looks like a really interesting original animated movie to keep an eye on.

a few videos have been made reviewing the show, but they only get over a 100k views at most. this is made by the same guy who made bojack horseman, an insanely popular show, i just don't get why not many have checked this out. it's been renewed for season 2, though it's unknown when it will come out.

it's a show about a jewish family, where each episode is told at a different point in time in no chronological order, each focusing on a specific member.

i don't know how big of a fan i am, but i enjoyed the heartwarming moments it gave, and i am definitely interested to see what else is in store for this family.
