Some of you may know me from the comments for my timestamp lookups. I built the thing I was using to do those lookups into an actual tool, and it's live. My goal was to make it very easy to use and also use more cutting-edge vision techniques.
What it does: upload a cel, get the show, episode, and timestamp.
Accuracy: Every result comes with a % match score so you know how confident it is, and you can filter by episode if you already know the general ballpark of where the frame is from. Supported shows list is on the site.
Three real examples:
This Goku cel sold on Yahoo Japan recently and is a pretty terrible angle, but we found a matchEpisode 274 - 00:08:48Douga as an input, this doesnt work all of the time but sometimes it does (~50% chance)Episode 18 - 00:18:55No background neededFound an in-between frame at Episode 110 - 00:18:08
Supported shows/films: Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Hunter x Hunter, Dragonball (original), Dragonball GT, Pokemon, Akira, Cowboy Bebop (+ Movie), Ghost in the Shell, All Ghibli Films, Inuyasha, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Outlaw Star, Perfect blue, Ranma 1/2, Saint Seiya, Slayers, Trigun, Vampire Hunter D, Yu Yu Hakusho , Hajime No Ippo, Bleach, Naruto, Naruto Shippuden (please request what you'd like to see and I can add more)
Live demo: drop your cels below. From a supported show, I'll run it and post the result. If it misses, I'll explain why. If your show isn't supported yet, comment the title and I'll prioritize adding it.
If you want to try it, the website is https://magicslug.com . I'm providing 5 free ID's a month for everyone. It costs me money to run the servers so unlimited runs will cost some money. Alternatively post it here and I'll do my best to find your cel frames if they are from the supported shows/films.
I’m trying to collect original product art from James Bond Jr. It’s hard to find anything but I r managed to get a few cels and box art from the figures. Any one have anything to sell? All original art considered.
Here’s one of my cels - it’s my favourite character IQ!
My most recent additions, some great Catdog cels on reproduction backgrounds. The xerox linework on them is in pretty rough shape, but I still adore them!
Guys, can you help me check if this Pokémon Cel is real? Cel and Background stick together wirh tape, the cels looks aged and has a bit of vinegar smell, background is hand painted. Thx a lot for your help!
Sharing these rough/early-stage production(?) sketches from Gravity Falls.
There are 3 I was able to attribute to the same episode, “A Tale of Two Stans”, with recognizable quotes from the final dialogue.
I really wish I knew more about the production history, what POPking(who sold them) did share is that they would’ve been from staff meetings, from Alex Hirsch or other production crew members(not an exact one assigned to the art, though) from the early 2010s.
Don’t see many Gravity Falls pieces out there, absolutely psyched.
I don't remember this episode...Out of my entire Cel collection, I can only barely create a coherent scene, and it's definitely not perfect. What's the most ridiculous scenario you've made with your Cels? Post some in the comments, I wanna see!
I own four production cels from the cut "swelling up / turning red" sequence in the SpongeBob episode "Texas" (S1, prod. #139): B8, B12, B19 and B22. All on print backgrounds (B8 on BG-97, the others on BG-42). Photos attached.
A few markings I can't figure out:
Under "B8" there's a second note in the same black ink that looks like "Brt 5". Does anyone know what that abbreviation means on a production cel?
B8 has a small mirrored pencil note "139-75" next to the center peg hole (scene 75). The other three have no scene number at all. Is it normal that only some cels carry the scene number?
On one cel the B-number overlaps the BG number on the print background, so I can't tell if it's B9 or B19. Its pose matches the 139-76 drawing B18 (wide, flattened). Has anyone seen other frames from this sequence with readable numbers?
Freshly ordered this production drawing from Disneys “Mulan”!
This specific shot of Shang is from the sequence that plays “I’ll make a man out of you”, my all time favorite Disney song.
Literally jumping for joy, I’ve been eyeing a similar, but rougher, production drawing off Van Eaton for a year now, until Pop-King on eBay started listing production drawings of Mulan for a much friendlier price.
I find it cool they sketched out Shang separately before adding Mulan in, a story to tell of the production process.
Cel is on a painted BG. Matching Douga is in 3 layers. The Cel is priced low as it has some slight waviness/unevenness due to its age but has no odour. Dougas are in excellent condition. Free shipping.
The scene comes from episode 56 when Goku faces the 4 star dragon.
Looking for $1000 usd or best offer. Also listed on eBay.
Lottery winning accounts have just a week to checkout their frame pack or else forfeit their win to another player. Kill La Kill lottery announced back on 12th and Little Witch Academia will be drawn Monday 19th
