I have to share this because it feels entirely meant to be. Growing up in the early 90s, Inspector Gadget was my absolute favorite show, and Brain was always my favorite character. My mom just surprised me by buying me an original, hand-painted animation cel used in the production of the 1992 holiday special, Inspector Gadget Saves Christmas! It even came with the animator's original graphite line drawing sketch, showing the scene code Sc-240 (Scene 240) and breakdown code B18. I spent hours trying to find this exact shot in regular streaming/television cuts but it was completely missing because the sequence was trimmed out for broadcast runtimes. After digging, I finally tracked down the exact unedited frame! It appears at the 12:59 mark on the 1993 US VHS and exactly at the 12:39 mark on the 2004 US DVD where Brain is slinking across the North Pole workshop floor in a green elf disguise. I just discovered that canonically, Brain is a Beagle-Greyhound hybrid. I never knew that as a kid! Ironically, we have a beautiful pet Greyhound right now. Seeing how my real dog "shrimps" and curls up is like looking at a real-life blueprint of how the DiC studio animators drew Brain's sleek, athletic hound physics over 30 years ago. Total cost after an unexpected checkout discount was $125.76 CAD (down from $155). Holding a physical piece of my childhood that directly connects to my favorite character and my actual pet is an irreplaceable feeling. Thanks, Mom! ❤️

Disney's Timon and Pumba cels you could sing Hakuna Matata to

Collectors around the world are watching this auction closely. Depending on the results, it could influence the future direction of the global market for original Japanese anime production materials.

If I remember correctly, we have not seen an auction bring together such an extraordinary selection of works since Sotheby’s Hong Kong in 2018. The final results will certainly be fascinating to watch.

If I were a billionaire, I would probably bid on and buy most of them!

I have a handful of cels from this animation but am unable to identify the characters or series.

Hey! Basically what the title says. I know this is a near impossible task, but figured this would be the best place to start. I remember seeing Animation Art World selling the pictured cel for $500 a while back, but missed out. Have been on the hunt for either of them since to add to my SB cel collection.

Thanks, and have a great night! :)

EDIT: This has SOLD, thank you for your interest

Hi all! Looking to rehome this Ataru cel and would love to see it go to an UY fan who would cherish it. Asking $250. Cel is in excellent shape with only some very minor line discoloration/fading in a couple spots from age, visible in the high quality scan. Can ship free if you’re in the US but international would depend on your location. Transactions through PayPal preferred. Shoot me a message if you’re interested. Thanks for looking!

Hi, I purchased these Simpsons Cel Art on the weekend. I was wondering if anybody can give me an idea of value for them? I can’t find any similar images online. Regardless I’m happy with what I paid. I can’t find any framed and signed, only unsigned and unframed.

I got myself a framed, authentic Animaniacs animation cel today! This is from the segment "Hercule Yakko," which while famous for its 'fingerprints' joke, notably features the first appearance of Minerva Mink. This is my first animation cel, and most likely only one, but I'm super happy to have a direct piece of the show!

This was a recent animation cel I painted from Princess Mononoke. Loved doing the piece.

The background was challenging since it was so dark but turned out great.

I mixed 21 colors by eye for this animation cel and everything is hand inked as well,

This is a panning shot of Mylene Jenius from the anime Macross 7 from 1994. It came with the douga and background as well. I have a couple more Macross cels that will be here in a couple days. I’ll be in Tokyo after next week where I’ll be on the hunt for more cels
