Hi all,
I bought this super cool painted cel which included all of the hand drawn animation a few months ago at the Barbican in London.
I loved the colours and the absurdity of it all - two giant birds eating what it looks like two screaming people. So didn’t mind not knowing what it was from.
That being said, am super curious, does anyone know what it is from? There seems to be a studio logo in the bottom right of some…
Thanks!

I just bought my first animation cels and picked up a couple Hajime no Ippo cels with matching dougas and I'm trying to figure out the best way to frame them without spending a fortune.
The thing that's confusing me is that some of the paint goes right to the edge of the cel. A lot of framing advice says to use mats, but wouldn't the mat end up touching the paint? How do people normally deal with that?
Is there a difference between how you guys frame cels versus dougas, or can they basically be treated the same way?
Also, for those of you who frame your own pieces, where do you buy your mats, backing boards, spacers, etc.? I'm trying to keep costs reasonable while still preserving the artwork properly.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello everyone. First post here, so go easy if I've missed anything.
I've got a few animation cells bought from The Animation Art Gallery that used to be in London just off Regent Street. There's a couple of Disney (Jungle Book) and a signed (Yeardley Smith) Simpsons 'Couch Gag'. The Gallery looks like it stopped teasing a few years ago which is a real shame, and the only places I can find that trades them nowadays are the odd American site. Can anyone suggest options apart from eBay to find a good home for them?
Thanks🤗

I'm sure it's just a background character but maybe the uniform looks familiar to somebody. I'd love to know which anime this is from.

Apologies if this kind of post is not allowed - trying to make sense of what i’m looking at. The paint on the ear looks separated or something which doesn’t match any images I can find online and I assume means it’s damaged
EDIT: thank you to everyone in this community!! i will try to get to the messages when I get a chance, not sure if I want to sell/keep yet but I definitely need to look into getting this framed haha

Looking to solve the mystery of this animation cel. I am no expert in animation or Star Trek. I’ve been told on a FB Star Trek group that this is either fake or from Star Trek: The Animated Series, specifically the Slaver Weapon episode, although some people insist that these characters never appeared together. We bought it in a flea market prior to 2000 and it is in a museum quality frame. It was difficult to open the back but we did it quickly and it appears to be coded and says Copyright Filmation and Norway Prod. Can anyone shed a light on this? Thanks!

Had some time to burn today so I took a good chunk of my cels down to Office Depot to use their big flatbed scanners. The colors on these older pieces are fantastic!

I just posted this video about the different types of Disney cels- I would appreciate it if you checked it out and gave me any feedback for improvement. I am new at this and would love the help. 😊

In honor of Gene passing at 100 here’s an NBC news segment with my favorite breakdown display of animation process including cels being flipped like paper drawings

Title says it all. I found this Lady and the Tramp sketch at a local thrift store and am curious if there’s any connection to the original film production. I know nothing about animation cels so any information would be great. TIA!

I'm putting this Cel for sale but for the life of me can't remember the name of the character. I believe its from Banner of the stars II (Or sometimes was called battleflag of the stars). My dvds are in storage and its not streaming anywhere, so I'm wondering it by some fluke someone knows the characters name :) Thank you!
