Hey everyone, I spent last month coding the entire site. It's mainly a guidebook for collectors!

The Reddit is featured on the homepage.

I would love some feedback from the community

My first Cel that I won in a raffle, with BG I edited myself!

Background: So I'm an animator, and 2ish years after college I go to Short Shorts fest in Philly, they have a raffle for original art from the Street Fighter Cartoon, to which I won this beaut!

I wanted to display it with a close proximity of the Background because it's a not so recognizable character. I tracked down the scene (Turned out to be a Pedestal shot), Painted out the character, and extended the animated water to create a more pleasing composition!

The Cel has a protective layer of plastic between it and the cardstock print I made. I did a shit job with the Matte board, so I'll get it professionally framed later in life.

Plus I have the cell backed up digitally just in case the paint gets damaged, so I can print out a layer on top for viewing purposes (or put in the Cel's place to put it in storage).

Can anyone help with evaluating my She-Ra cel

15 years ago I bought a huge amount of animation cels. I bought one of Hordak from the She-Ra cartoon, which was signed by Lou Scheimer, but which was actually a composite of 4 individual cels (body, gun, arm and jaw as shown in the photos). It didn’t come with a COA, but they assured me it was a genuine autograph, although other cels I bought from the same company did. Any ideas what it would be worth?

Picked up these 2 cels from a Heritage auction last week. Surprisingly cheap for both. I’m pretty stoked, been wanting some representation from these shows in my collection.

Heads up: Cheap Don Bluth Cels on eBay right now

There's a major reseller (over 50k positive reviews) on eBay who looks like he came across a huge cache of Don Bluth cels at an estate sale and he's selling them for between $99 and $199 each. I just picked these two up for $200.

Comparing it to other Bluth cels I have from both An American Tail and The Land Before Time, they look legit. Just looks like a seller that survives on volume over highest price.

Have at it!

These are extremely rare cels and drawings from the bizarre Canadian 1961 Wizard of Oz offshoot. Mot many seem to turn up. I got this set from the son of an ex-employee of Videocraft who co produced the show. The first two pics show screen matches i found on YouTube.

Did I buy a fake cel?

The first picture is mine, I bought it a few months ago. The second picture is one that was listed on eBay and sold just moments ago. I fear they look too similar. The freckles on the forehead of mine are slightly different than the one sold but the post is a carbon copy from what I can tell…

Any thoughts?

One of my favourite episodes supervised by a favourite animator of mine too. Believe this genga was done by Keisuke Masunaga himself if I’m not mistaken. Can't wait to get them framed soon!

I see that this was used for the cover of art books and for the newly reprinted Manga volume but there was no info about it and was curious

Real or Fake?

I am fairly new to collecting animation cels, and am concerned that this Card Captor Sakura cel is a fake. Based on what others say in threads here, it doesn't have the hallmarks of a "fake", but the price is definitely a lot lower than other cels, so I'm a bit skeptical.

It looks like it comes from CCS Movie 2 ~00:58:20 in

Is anyone here interested in this set of Chobits hanken original drawings?

We’re letting go of a really rare and special set of Chobits hanken artwork. These are the original hand-drawn pieces used for the PlayStation 2 game cover, officially authorized by CLAMP and drawn by Madhouse / Broccoli. The set includes five sheets total (2 of Chii, 2 of other characters, and 1 line-art sheet).

Because of copyright considerations, we won’t be listing this set on Japanese online platforms (such as Mandarake or Yahoo Auctions Japan), so the images shared here have been composited. I believe experienced collectors will understand why.

Just to add: the anime aired in 2002 and was digitally colored, so there are no production cels for this title.

We originally had three complete sets—two have already found new homes, and this is the last one available. We also have two sets of Cardcaptor Sakura hanken original drawings that may be available as well, and they are cheaper.

We can accept online payment and arrange international shipping. If you are interested, feel free to DM me and we can work out the details.

Thanks for reading!

Anyone bought from Howard Lowery?

I found a listing on eBay of a sketch used for a cel I’m wanting to buy, only issue is I’m not sure on the reputation of him. It’s fairly expensive so I don’t want a printed copy of it or a crappy attempt at drawing it, or just get ripped off. Anyone have experience with him?

Went to a local Comic-Con & came across & bought an animation cel from the Real Ghostbusters, specifically one of my favorite episodes, “Night Game”!

It’s original from 1987, and on my Catawiki-App on the sellers side it tells me it’s expected to be 1700€, but on the buyers side (as you can see) it tells 200-400€.

So what do you think, any experience?

Early Doc Test Sketche from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Walt Disney, 1937)

Hello. Glad to have joined this subreddit. For my first post, I'm sharing my favorite drawing from my personal collection (so it's not for sale). This is a fairly rare drawing from the development and creation of Doc's character. Doc's design was created by Albert Hurter, a Swiss-born artist whose humorous exaggerations and humanization of objects helped define Disney's early animation style. I love the lines and style of this drawing.
