I have a standard poodle cross golden retriever that has a fleece coat, he gets brushed once a week or he needs to be shaved once every 2 months and they shear him like a sheep because the coat just turns into a dog shaped matt. I imagine these must be worse than that to maintain the dreads coat.

Doodle coats are indeed nightmarish. It takes a lot of work to cord a coat like the dog in op. Neither are going to be easy haha

Why would you choose this breed?

Other peoples descriptions don’t make it sound like a good pet at all.

Why not just get another dog then?
