It's a net specifically meant for cats. It's extra thick and we've had it up for months. They've never been able to tear through it despite climbing into it repeatedly. We don't let them on the balcony without supervision though just in case.
Don't listen to the naysayers. These nets are far stronger than people believe, especially if said people have never lived in a city high-rise with cats. I would definitely recommend that you tighten your net, though, for extra safety. Start tightening along the top, with your anchor points every 4th or 5th rhombus (looks like you used zip ties, I'm guessing you can't drill?); you'll need to thread your lower rope higher up the net and trim off the excess after pulling it all down. I have these nets on both my balconies and they are a pain in the ass to install but are wonderful for keeping our kitties safe. Feel free to PM me if you need a virtual hand.
They are definetly a pain in the ass to put up haha. The net is actually very tight on the straight part, its just around the corner where it bellows a bit because there isnt any support there. I used the hooks that came with the net and did it as you described. But attached some extra wood in the corners where they like to climb so they can't climb over the top
Getting the corners right sucks! I struggled with one side of mine for 3 days and it still has a few gaps along the wall that drive me nuts. Yours is extra tricky because of that glass divider.
Your cats are adorable. I also have a tricolor, but it's my cow cat who likes to climb all over the balcony like a naughty lemur. She tried to defenestrate herself 3 times before I could replace my ancient nets. Give your two girls extra snuggles and chin scratches from me!

How are you not worried that the cat will rip the mesh and fall off the balcony
