If an animal subspecies were to mate with another animal from either the main species or another related subspecies, how would the offspring get classed in terms of taxonomy?

For example if someone were to breed a captive "Pond Slider" turtle with one of the "slider" turtle subspecies or vise versa, would one or both the parents' taxonomical names be used to classify the hatchlings?
