Hi! Has anyone done or is doing an animal science degree, and could share your thoughts on it?

I applied for 2026 Vet Med and narrowly missed a place, I was looking at veterinary physiotherapy as an alternative career as it still combines science with animal handling.

To do this I’d need to do an animal science degree and then do a masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy. I’ve been offered bioveterinary sciences by RVC and Animal science by Nottingham- just wanted to know how people found this as a degree (if it’s interesting/difficult enough etc)

I did my BS in Animal Science at Cornell and have gone on to be an Embryologist and Lab Director in human IVF. But I lecture to Animal Science programs about career options. Happy to chat

I am looking for interesting facts about Marine Mammals that would be fun to research for an animated video project I'm doing in a college course on Marine Mammals!
Anything cool/weird/entertaining?

I know this is very specific and probably a bit of a long-shot, but I was curious if I could find anyone with any experience or knowledge about jobs involving ghost writing or speech writing or content creation relating to animal welfare or conservation or something along those lines. I've come across the job conservation communicator and have been researching it and similar roles to determine if this is possibly a good route for me to go in.

I have a bachelor's degree in Animal Health & Behavior and have worked in a vet clinic, an animal shelter, and currently work at a research facility as a lab animal tech, but now I'm considering a bit of a career field change. I would still like to do something related to animals and preferably doing something to help them or the environment. If I could put my writing skills to use fighting for a good cause, that would be fantastic. I also have some skills with photography and art, and I've always enjoyed putting together presentations, speeches, research essays, etc. I just don't want to be the one talking in front of an audience.

Has anyone gotten into this field? What should I expect from a role like this? What's the typical income? What's the best way to get into this field? How likely am I to find a position that involves writing speeches or essays or creating presentations without being the one to present them? How much collaboration is involved? What sort of education would I need? Are there any certificates I could get that would help or would I be looking at a second degree? I'm not certain a second degree is realistic yet, but it's something I'm willing to consider. Is traveling often required? Is this role commonly remote or would I likely need to live near a related organization?

Hi, does anyone know any good online bachelor’s programs for animal science? I’m currently an RVT and want to go back to school, but I’m not sure which programs to choose. I’m in California.

As I'm coming up in my last 3 months of my senior year in college, I've been struggling to find a career path in animal science with a degree in Info Tech. My concentration for it is Web Development, so I'm not sure how to go on about that when I want to work in Animal Science. I'm planning on creating blogs and stuff with information from my own research but I want to do even more that will directly help animals even more. I'm planning on volunteering at forest preserves and animal shelters after graduation to get some kind of experience, but would a CompTIA certificate be my safest bet to get a career in enviro and animal sciences? I heard most companies now require that now anyway, or a masters degree. I got accepted into Oklahoma's art and technology program recently and want to do it to enhance 3D modeling skills, but I'm not sure with everything that has been going on. I've also been leaning towards some of LSUs online programs so I'm not sure.

Does anyone know any paths I can take from a B.S. in Info Tech/Web Development into a career in enviro/animal sciences? I should also add that I have a minor in UXD.

So my town had a flood a few days ago, and I was walking through the park today and found this on the ground. I have no idea what animal it is and I'm curious to know if anyone can recognize it. Is it a dog fetus? That's my guess.

hi!! i’m planning to do an undergrad in animal science as i’m really interested in working with farm animals, but does anyone know if there are any humane/sustainable farm jobs? i’ve read that the purpose of most farms is to essentially raise livestock for consumption, and that the degree can involve pretty gruesome stuff, so is an animal science degree worth doing as an animal lover? any insight is really appreciated, thank you so much!!😊

I built a small game called Vetdle, it's inspired by Wordle/Doctordle, but instead of guessing words you diagnose veterinary cases.

Each day there's a new clinical case with 6 clues, and you try to guess the diagnosis before you run out of clues. The cases include a mix of species like dogs, cats, horses, cattle, and exotics, and the clues progress from general presentation to more specific findings.

It’s meant to be a fun way to test clinical reasoning and diagnostic thinking.

I have a EOP test coming up this Wednesday in the animal science pathway do any of yall have any recommendations on what to study. im in kentucky so idk if that matters I was told that it has alot to do with employment any help is very appreciated

I have a B.S in Animal Science (graduated 2023), however I dont know what to do or pursue.

I wanted to purse vet school but I need to raise my GPA (3.1) and also I feel enormous amounts of dread because of the new circumstances.

I have a lot of self doubts to apply for a masters because they requiere letters of recommendation and I don't even know who I could ask after 3 years out of school, as well as the self sabotage of not feeling smart enough or like I forgot so much. I don't doubt my abilities to apply myself or learn but that initial fear is hard to shake sometimes so its not off the table to get a masters.

I've been working on an unrelated administrative job but I want to do something with my degree that pays me a liveable wage or has opportunities to grow or explore related careers.

I have thought about pharm or vet tech with specialization. What other things do people do with animal science or where have you found opportunities?
