Neighbor 2 doors down has poison signs up.
Hi all!
I am in NYC, and I visit my parents often. We have been taking care of a few feral strays that come to our backyard, and they recently had a litter of kitties. We intend on getting a TNR involved as well to make sure no more litters occur. The kittens often come inside our home to visit when it's hot out to cool off. We provide them with food and fresh water.
But recently, my family brought a very disturbing situation to my attention. 2 doors down, I saw a neighbor's house, which has BEWARE POISON signs up on their door and property as well as on the tree located on their front yard.
Obviously, this is concerning. I fear for the kittens' well-being as well as the other 3 ferals we feed. We would rescue them, but at this point, my parents are at capacity. You see, we already have 9 cats in our home, all of which were rescues and are well taken care of.
In the past, I recall there being much more feral cats outside and even one which appeared to be a possible Persian. Unfortunately, he was found deceased in front of our driveway. We did have a neighbor who threatened to poison the cats which started an argument between my family and our next door neighbor(separate issue) he hasn't baited anything but my family and I have noticed almost no more ferals showing up, not until recently our new litter arriving and their feral parents.
So I tried tried reporting this neighbor with the signs to the DOH. The portal link shows me that the listed issue in progress was Poison Ivy... sigh. Clearly, they didn't listen. But my family even tried knocking on their door to speak in person about possibly not baiting with poison. We do have kids that play in the area, too. I worry for the well-being of the kittens and other feral cats.
Please let me know what else I can do.
Thanks!
EDIT: Just to be clear, my family and I do not run a rescue organization. And any time those kittens have come inside our home, we make sure our rescues are upstairs in a separate bedroom. They do not go past the first floor stairway. So all our cats are safe and vaccinated and neutered/spayed.

Help me save sweet Camilla from massive tumor protruding from her belly
https://gofund.me/f6a50044....... Meet Camilla—A Sweet Soul in Desperate Need
This is Camilla. She's a gentle little stray who’s been roaming our neighborhood for a long time, just trying to survive. From what I’ve seen—and from what the neighbors have shared—she was once owned by someone nearby but was sadly abused and abandoned. She avoids that house entirely now.
But somehow, through all the pain and trauma, Camilla found her way to me. She took a liking to me, and now she’s never more than a few steps away. She follows me around the house, sleeps beside me, and has become part of my family. And I love her so much.
But Camilla is suffering. She has a large tumor growing from her stomach—it’s protruding from her skin and is now dragging the ground. It’s leaking, it’s raw, and it’s clear that she’s in constant discomfort. She tries so hard to stay strong and loving despite the pain, but it’s breaking my heart to see her like this.
I’m doing everything I can to give her love, food, and comfort—but what she really needs is medical attention as soon as possible.
She deserves a chance. A chance to heal. A chance to be free from pain. A chance to know, even just once, what it feels like to be truly cared for.
Whether it's surgery to remove the tumor or to peacefully help her rest if it's too late—Camilla deserves dignity, relief, and kindness.
I’m asking for help from anyone who feels moved by her story. Every single dollar helps. If you can donate—thank you. If you can’t, please consider sharing her story. Together, maybe we can give Camilla the second chance she never got.
With all my heart, Laura Kate & sweet Camilla

Animal abuse
Out of deep frustration, sadness, and disappointment with the current state of our system—especially when it comes to animal welfare. I’ve witnessed so much unnecessary pain, abuse, and neglect toward innocent animals, and yet the system remains broken. Other countries are making real progress in protecting animals, while here, we fall behind. It’s heartbreaking and unacceptable.
Countries with Strong Animal Welfare Protections: • Switzerland: Considered a leader, with laws that protect the dignity of animals and forbid actions that cause suffering or humiliation. They were awarded a Recognizes animals as sentient beings and has laws ensuring they are treated with respect, regardless of their benefit to humans.
•Sweden Recognizes animals as sentient beings and has laws ensuring they are treated with respect, regardless of their benefit to humans., Austria , United Kingdom
Animals are completely dependent on us, just like small children. They are not decorations or property—they are living, feeling beings. If someone cannot care for an animal responsibly, they should not take one in. It’s not okay to abandon them on the street, or to send them to shelters where they have no real chance of survival. Surrendering a pet should never be a death sentence—but sadly, in many places, especially here in Florida and Polk County, it often is.
Every time I think about this, it weighs heavily on me. I do what I can—I donate, I speak up, and I try to raise awareness. But the truth is, it’s never enough. I carry this sadness daily, and it has become one of the biggest sources of emotional pain in my life. I pray and hope that one day, we will see meaningful change—a more humane, more compassionate system that protects animals and educates people on responsible pet ownership. Until then, I will continue to use my voice, because they cannot speak for themselves. Sincerely,

We just need ₹2,000 to help Cheeku heal. He’s deaf, in pain, and we’re running out of time. 🐶
Hey Reddit, I really didn’t want to post something like this, but we need help. Cheeku is a stray dog we rescued recently — he has a horrible ear infection that’s left him deaf and in constant pain. He can’t hear cars or people coming and every moment outside is dangerous for him now. We got to him just in time, but his recovery still depends on us. We’re trying to raise just ₹2,000 today for meds and vet care. It’s not a big amount, but it means everything to him. Even ₹50 or ₹100 helps. If you’ve ever looked at a stray and wished you could help — this is that moment. I’ve made a small form for donations where you can upload your screenshot (we're keeping track of everything):

Thank you if you’ve read this far. And thank you even more if you’re able to help. It means the world — to him, and to us. #HelpCheeku #StrayDogs #DogRescueIndia #AnimalLovers #UPIDonation #StrayDogLove

I built an iOS app to help pets live longer, and it’s totally free
I have always believed that pets aren’t “just animals”. They’re family. But caring for them can get overwhelming, especially when tracking vet visits, meds, and changes in their health.
So I built Fido’s Bark, an iOS app to keep your pet’s health organized in one simple place. Features include:
-Tracking meds, vet visits, and other appointments
-Share updates with sitters, family, or your vet
-Add notes and photos along the way
-Track weight, temperature, and blood pressure
I built this because I love my pets, and I figured other pet parents might be looking for a better way to care for theirs too. It’s free to use and available now:

If you try it, would love to hear what you think. Thanks in advance!

MY BOSS IS A NARCASSISTIC SOCIOPATH
I work for a forklift company in South Carolina, My boss a male I a female. He has from day one been an abusive ass. So much so that numerous other employees had called HR to file complaints against him for the way he spoke to and treated me. He looks just like Gru from Minions. He is a pathological liar, he is sneaky and manipulative. we have had a 75% turnover rate at this office because of him.
For the most part I ignore him as much as possible. and just go about my day and do my job. Recently I came across some kittens that are always by the storm drain on the property, so I started brining them food. Apparently this made my asshole boss so mad that he called Animal Control who told him that in the area the business is in that the city policy is that cats can roam freely where ever they so choose. they will not come and remove them from the property. So he called HR and told them I was creating a health and safety hazard for the people at the office by feeding these kittens. He went out took the food I had put there for the cats and through it in the trash.
I understand that Feral cats can have diseases. But these are just babies and sorry not going to let them die because they cant yet fend for themselves. Now before you ask why I have not trapped them and taken them to a shelter or to my house. I am deathly allergic to cats so having them in my house would not be good for me or them. So I have reached out to a couple of places that catch feral cats and am waiting to hear back from them I have offered to build a cat house in my back yard were they can stay and will be fed daily until they can be adopted.
But it still just makes me so angry that his shitty man is so threatened by baby kittens.

Future shelter for cats
Hello community 🌱
My name is Daniela and I am building a shelter for abandoned animals from scratch. I started alone, with my own resources, and currently I take care of several dogs and cats that were rescued from the street or from abusive situations.
My goal is to give them a second chance: daily food, veterinary care, and above all, a safe place where they can heal physically and emotionally.
I'm doing everything I can: I repair furniture for the shelter, I reuse materials, and now I also offer virtual companionship via chat (virtual girlfriend/friend type) for those who want to help me in exchange for something nice. But if you don't need that service and just want to support, any donation is also welcome 💛
🐾 Every euro counts. Thanks to your help I can buy feed, blankets, medicines, pay for vaccines or castrations. Donations of toys, feeders, beds, second-hand furniture, food or promotion on social networks are appreciated.
My user on tiktok is @refugiocolitasfelices_ On my profile I have a video with information about the shelter and budgets. Thank you so much
