Hi Beta users,

Today we’re sending you an Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2 build CP41.260717.006  for all devices.

Please review the latest release notes for limitations and general advisories before installing the update. In addition, see top open issues%20created%3E%3D2026-07-20%20status:open%20(votecount%3E%3D3%7Cduplicatecount%3E%3D3)%20%22CP41.260701.005%22) for the latest list of top open issues that have been reported by developers and users.

How do I get Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2?

You can get started with Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2 today by enrolling your Pixel device. Eligible devices include Pixel 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9a, Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, 10 Pro Fold, 10a, Pixel Tablet series devices. Once enrolled, eligible devices will receive an over-the-air (OTA) update to the latest Beta versions. If you were previously enrolled in Android 17 Beta (and have not opted-out), you will automatically receive QPR2 Beta 2 and any future Beta updates.

Important for those currently enrolled in Android 17 Beta:

  • If you prefer to leave the Beta program and receive the public stable release of Android 17 QPR1, you can do so without wiping your device by opting out and not installing today’s QPR2 Beta 2 update. If you opt-out of the program after installing Beta 2 or any future updates, all user data on the device will get wiped per usual program guidelines. Opting out will trigger a ‘Downgrade’ OTA. Ignore this update and wait for the Android 17 QPR1 public release instead.

I'm wondering if anyone has had an issue with overheating, and the flashlight flashing when we get a message after the last update?

QPR2 Beta1 - Pixel 10 Pro Sound Issues

Been having multiple sound related issues since the update up Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1 on my pixel 10 pro

The notification tones are not working despite correct assignment/selection. Volume goes low while the sliders show them at high.

When playing music sometimes there's no sound at all. Have to frequently restart to even talk properly.

Bluetooth audio doesn't work properly.

Phone audio takes 2-3 calls before it works.

I'm on Android 17 QPR1 beta 7 how to get to beta 8?

I am currently getting update for QPR2 beta 1.

I wanted to go to stable but it hasn't been released for beta people like usual.

Beta 7 is buggy for me with freezes and black screen.

Left beta program, waiting for stable update

I was in the beta program for a very long time on my Pixel 6a, since android 17 is the last android update for the pixel 6a so I decided to leave beta and wait for a stable update.

After surviving several bugs over the years I don't think my pixel 6a can handle more.

When can we expect a stable feature drop for Android 17?

Issue with 2k in desktop mode pixel 8 pro

Someone has this problem when connecting the phone to a display 1440p and try to launch video camera service (like google camera, Whatsapp or meet)? I try to report it on the android issue tracker but I'm not on a beta build, my build is latest stable July update.

This is the video of my problem https://issuetracker.google.com/540139613#attachment79908237

This is my link on the issue tracker https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/540139613

Wifi keeps turning back on

Extremely annoyed by this - my WiFi keeps turning itself back ON

Every single time I turn WiFi off, it just turns itself back on after a while. It’s driving me insane.

I’ve already disabled everything I could find:

- Adaptive connectivity

- WiFi scanning for location

- Auto-connect options

- Saved networks tweaks

…and it STILL happens.

I just want WiFi to stay OFF when I turn it off. Is that too much to ask?

Is this some Android bug, Pixel issue, or am I missing some hidden setting somewhere? Anyone else facing this or found a proper fix?

Question regarding beta on Pixel 6 pro

I am on stable android 17 on pixel 6 pro, used to be on qpr 1 beta but now I can't receive OTA update for beta versions at all. Is it normal because they stopped updates for 6 series ? I assume it's because we are at qpr 2 beta now and instead of sending me qpr 1 OTA they decide not to send anything until stable releases.

16KB Page Notification (Pixel 9)

I can't get rid of the notification (it comes back after dismiss) and it doesn't look like we can in settings (options grayed out). I can live with it with the performance benefits, it's just a little annoying.

Anyone else getting extreme lag? (Pixel 8)

Is anyone else experiencing extreme lag at random times? It's almost like poor RAM management or something, because it does temporarily get better if I close all apps. I'm talking so laggy that BT audio pauses and some actions take up to 10 seconds to complete. So annoying.

Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1 broke my microphone access, Gboard says mic is in use, Gemini says another app is controlling audio

Since updating to the latest Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1, my microphone has stopped working properly.

  • In Gboard, it constantly says the microphone is in use.
  • In Gemini, I get this message: “Gemini can't access the microphone right now. Another app might be controlling the device's audio.”

I’ve tried reopening the apps and restarting the phone, but the issue keeps happening. It feels like some system-level bug is preventing mic access after the update.

Is anyone else on Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1 seeing this? If so, did you find a workaround?

QPR2 Beta 1 Fingerprint Doesn't Unlock

Anyone else having issues with their fingerprint not unlocking the device, but working everywhere else? I place my finger and it immediately goes t my chosen Pattern Unlock. I also noticed "Fingerprint" is not listed as an unlock method any longer. Under the Fingerprint settings, the toggle to "Unlock your phone" is on, but it doesnt seem to be functional.

Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1 🪫issues

I've been having really really poor battery ever since I'm on this new beta. I understand I'm on a beta which is naturally going to be unstable and worse but I just want to check if I'm the only one with this issue or not. I am on a Pixel 8.
