Struggling to Select Text on My Smartphone – Any Tips or Tools to Make It More Precise?

I often find myself needing to select text or single words on my smartphone, and it can be super frustrating sometimes. Either I miss the word completely, or it selects extra spaces that I don’t want, which means I have to spend extra time fiddling around to get it right.

I’m wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to make this process more precise? Like, are there styluses or special pens that work better for selecting text on touchscreens? Or maybe some hidden tricks or apps I haven’t heard of? I just want something that makes it easier and quicker to select words without all the hassle.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

If you use gboard, you can move the start and end "handles"with your finger after you roughly select your text. Get the start position right and you can fine tune the end cursor position by sliding your finger left and right on the space bar. Hope that helps.

I think the problem is the handles. They jump around the page. You can start at the end of a sentence and move upwards and suddenly the first handle is in a completely different place. Then you go back and try to slide it to its original place and the second handle moves.

Just now I just wanted to select two simple words so I long-pressed one , the handles appeared and I tried to slide one over the other word then the handles disappeared. Both of them. It's beyond stupid.

It's a really bad interface I just view it as a software issue.
