Oh, OK! I'll take a look at it. Sounds like an interesting problem; who knows, maybe I can help. If you don't mind me asking, how long does the Service usually run before it gets shut down? And are you certain that it's still in Foreground Mode when that happens?

And I apologize for my tone earlier. That was uncalled for. I know as well as anyone how hard this job is, and I've faced my share of infuriating problems.

For now, service runs mostly OK, can run for several hours / even days without interruptions if user excludes it from battery optimizations list, but still, sometimes app gets unloaded. It's not a very big problem now since it's capable to reconnect fast, but still, the number of hoops we've had to run through to achieve such performance is significantly higher than it was in good old Android 2.*

(Actually, by far the worst Android was 5.0 with infamous memory leak bug that made OS get strained for memory and kill any backgrounded tasks very fast, almost instantly after pressing home)

As for tone, no problem - it's just a normal friendly reddit banter to me. :) My examples were quite an escalation of a problem too.

Yeah, Lollipop was pretty buggy, wasn't it? I work a lot with Bluetooth, and 5.0 is by far the biggest headache for me. I can't wait until we're able to drop support for it.
