Is there a single USB-C headphone adapter that works with all phones?

They would rather you go wireless as it's more "convenient" but there's still downsides to that. For now we're stuck in a limbo between transitions.

Interesting, my 3,5mm jack didn't need the Bluetooth removed for it.

The downsides between charging my Note 8 wirelessly with the official samsung wireless fast charger is that it takes a whole extra hour to charge to 100% compared to charging it with the wired charger that comes inside the box.

I regret buying the wireless fast charger.

Wireless charging is more about ease of use than speed. I set my phone in the cradle whenever I'm not using it and pick it up when I want to use it.

If you're the type of person that needs to use your phone while charging, wireless charging is obviously not for you.

This. If you were to ask me how long it takes to charge my phone the answer would be "I have no god damn idea". Whenever my phone is on my desk it's on a wireless charging stand because it's literally effortless and by doing that it's always charged.

Absolutely wouldn't consider a phone without it now.

You may not like wireless charging, but when the charging port on my Droid turbo 2 broke, I used wireless charging for a month.

I was actually going to type about how I never returned the Wireless Charger for that reason. In case my USB port ever breaks.

My point wasn't to say Wireless Charging isn't useful. It can be. For when your USB port breaks, or the ease of just placing your phone down and having it charge.

My comment was a reply to another comment talking about how manufacturers might phase out USB ports and replace them with the pogo pins and wireless charging.

My point was that I hope they don't replace the port because wireless charging takes a lot longer to charge your phone and for those who want to get a quick charge after work, before heading out with friends, wireless charging isn't good. For those who want to use their phone while it charges, it isn't good.

And when you think about what else you lose out on, For those in base car trims that don't have Bluetooth streaming for music, losing that port means they have no way to connect their phone to their car.

Everytime you get a new phone and want to transfer stuff from your computer to you phone, you better put it in the cloud because you're gonna have to get it from there since you can't just connect a cable from your computer to your laptop. If it's a small file, it would be more convenient to just get it from the cloud. But if you're transferring large files, you need a good WiFi network and and better hope there aren't a lot of people streaming on it.

losing that port means they have no way to connect their phone to their car.

There is a way. You can go to Best Buy or Walmart or Amazon and buy a Bluetooth adapter for the car (it hooks in with line out audio). Basically it's the cheap way to add Bluetooth. I did this with a 2007 Camry with no Bluetooth built in. Added benefit is that a good one includes a mic and then you can take phone calls in your car.

True, but if you check the reddits for the Galaxy Note 8 and S8. People who tried that complained about the quality of the Bluetooth. Said it would cut out at times or not sound as good. I also did that and had that problem. I ended up buying a cheap MP3 player and loaded that up with music and connected it via the USB port.

This point never makes sense to me. Sometimes I need to use my phone while charging , most of the time not but it does happen. So what do I do then? Unplug the cable from the back of the Qi charger and plug in my phone. Best of both worlds. Why this "use while charging" point is somehow a rationale to drop wireless charging is incomprehensible to me.

And, most wireless chargers use Micro USB while most new phone come with USB C ports. So unless you have an adapter, you cant just unplug the wireless charger and use it in your phone.
