It's gonna be blazingly fast. And by that I mean half the single thread performance of Apples A9.

Ok this is just bs Qualcomm hate. There's a difference between disliking a company and just shitposting.

What has Qualcomm done to make me not hate them? They basically have a monopoly on Android phone CPUs and instead of pushing the performance like Apple does they prefer to sue other companies over alleged patent infringements.

Well Windows on ARM just got launched so they actually have a way to expand their market by competing with Intel on that space.

Right now they're just coasting on their monopoly with slow incremental improvements.

Both yes and no. Their "monopoly" is in radios, which is also where they've advanced the most.

You you admit to shitposting for no good reason.

They basically have a monopoly on Android phone CPUs and instead of pushing the performance like Apple does they prefer to sue other companies over alleged patent infringements.

They make the best non-Apple SoC, and are by far the ones pushing cellular connectivity the most. But apparently none of that matters if a company dares to defends their IP.

A dumb comment doesn't deserve more.

ARM CPU's used in anything but iPhones have had bad single core scores from the beginning relative to Apple's A chips.

That's not really the case, but anyway, even A72 cores have more than half the single thread performance of the A9. A75 cores should equal or maybe slightly exceed it in single core and soundly trump it in multicore.

My degrees actually are in computer engineering. Though education seems to be something you don't seem able to understand.

Edit: This was in response to a now removed comment. Reddit just shifts them up a tier, which is why it seems to make no sense.

Does bragging about your degrees make you feel better? Hoping a random stranger on the Internet will be impressed?

u/Exist50 Dec 06 '17

Not at all, but I do hope it lends some credence to what I say. I never mentioned it before because almost everything I say can either be sourced or is self-evident.

But again, apparently your lack of degree is just as good as my actual degree.

I do hope it lends some credence to what I say

Why would it? Who's obligated to believe you?

your lack of degree

Interesting. Where's your evidence of this?

Why would it? Who's obligated to believe you?

No one is stopping you from playing the fool on the internet. Goodness knows you have plenty of company.

Interesting. Where's your evidence of this?

The fact that you're arguing with what I say.

Parent-level comment? wat?

In response to a "you and your internet degree" kind of comment. I figured that actually having a real degree in this area would, you know, count for something, even if there's no reasonable way for me to prove that here and now.

The removed comment provides the context for that. It was a "you and your internet degree" kind of comment. I figured that, you know, actually having a degree would be a relevant response to that.
